CARDRUNNERS
What's Your Edge
4 tables of 2/4 full ring on stars
Overall i played well and i think had some good commentary but there were 2 or 3 mistakes i made that i really wish i hadnt. but its ok, after the video goes up ill talk about 2 or 3 of the situations more in depth on here.
in other news, migs roommates are my heroes. blair (blur5f6) hinkle has been destroying every live tourney he has played i definitely owe him an mspaint.
migs other roommate blake (ballab13) cahail just got 3rd in the wynn classic for 177k after final tabling 3 events in council bluffs last month. pretty heroic run for him. he won the sunday mill a few months back and followed in the immortal footsteps of mig, shown in the following picture by my favorite photoshopper byrnesam:
Mar 20, 08 17:02:59
Yea, Blake is a real solid player. I made the final table w/ him at the council bluffs \$550 event. He had AA vs. someone elses 77 and KQ. The 77 hit a straight that knocked him out. I got second, but I probably would've been playing him heads up if he had of won that pot. Can't wait to see the video also.
I have absolutely 0 attention span right now and i cant figure out whats going on. Every session i play horrible. I cant focus for more than 15 minutes on anything lately. i've literally done nothing productive in about 5-6 days. I tried making a video twice but both came out horrible and scrapped both of them. Im going to take the day off, relax, take it easy and come back strong tomorrow.
Im going to make a 2/4 full ring video on stars and then maybe a steps video. if anyone would like to see anything else lemme know.
im gonna go watch blood diamond because its awesome and a movie is about the only thing i can focus on right now.
Mar 15, 08 17:18:03
I want you to read your pm's and take me up on my offer. It's about a side bet with Taylor.
Mar 15, 08 18:57:05
Can we maybe see a tournament video. You haven't done very many and I would love to see your tournament strategy.
Mar 15, 08 22:37:47
Change is round the corner; there is something you need to change but its at the back of your head... chill you will know!!!
Mar 16, 08 11:48:08
PLO, we want more plo.
taking a day off is wise. no need to force the action.
Mar 16, 08 16:19:11
Hey Daut. One of the biggest issues that I've had with my poker game is moving up from 1/2 FR to 2/4 FR. In your 2/4 FR video, can you talk about important concepts that players should adapt to while moving up. (3 betting ranges in late position vs. Calling 3-bets in position.) I find that there will be a time when I just finally "get it", and can move up to 2/4, 3/6, 5/10. However, it's taking longer than expected, and I just want to see if there were some things that you believe are important to moving up to 2/4.
Thanks
Mar 16, 08 17:40:35
Glad to hear you're making another vid soon! I'd love to hear more about just improving your game on a session by session basis. The kinds of things you do away from the table, etc.
Mar 17, 08 04:33:20
Hey Daut!
I really enjoyed your previous FR video on Stars and found it useful. I hope you get your game going again. Best regards!
Just got home from LA where i grinded a lot.
Going to bed in a few so ill just do a few quick poker updates.
Been grinding a lot of plo as i had maybe a 35k downswing in nl. things definitely went very well last month, here are my stats:
ran sick sick hot but feel like im developing a very strong grasp on the game. i think i can continue to put up big results, but going to put plo on hold for a bit until i figure out whats going in my nl game.
i also grinded a lot in tourneys/sngs and had some good results. won a seat to san remo italy and to the wsop main event already. very much looking forward to my italy trip. cant wait to spend 3 weeks out there, i feel like cts except less baller.
ill update more later, just wanted to get a quick one in.
Mar 5, 08 01:29:50
There's almost certainly nothing wrong with your NL game. It's just seven buyins probably just variance. Why not just focus on killing the PLO game while you are killing it. Not something that should be taken for granted. And that is probably the reason you're not doing as well at NL. People rarely do well in both at the same time.
Mar 5, 08 02:01:52
feeling like cts except less baller.. oooollllooolllll.. dude is def baller status.. n e ways.. pretty pic of stats. very impressive
Mar 5, 08 07:24:28
If money is no object and you want a smoking fast reasonable size travel laptop that is durable I would but a Dell ATG D630 or XFR D630. The 64 GB solid state hard drive will make it the fastest laptop money can buy. (I would also get the built in WWAN so you can play poker anywhere anytime on one of these laptops.)
If you want a 17" screen I would buy an Alienware Area-51 m9750. Use the Raid 0 dual 64 GB solid state hard drives.
Mar 5, 08 22:18:09
and the 8 hands at 400PL, looks like he was shortstacking the big PLO game, doubled up in 8 hands and ratholed.
Mine sucks.
Requirements:
1. NOT VISTA
2. big screen with high resolution
3. preferably not a mac
gogogogoogogog
Feb 29, 08 02:04:03
Go build one on Dell's website.....they still allow you to do that with XP.
Feb 29, 08 02:41:12
Less than 2 months ago, i custom ordered a Dell with a 17" WUXGA screen (1920x1200 resolution, allows easy 4 tabling with no overlap and without adjusting table sizes). It was the Inspiron 1720 and the only option was Vista, but i had a copy of XP pro and put it on. All the drivers for XP are on their website and was easy to do. All came to about \$1,000
Feb 29, 08 03:26:59
"No mac"? Seriously? Get a MacBook Pro (or even just a MacBook!) and you'll be blown away. You know you can ALSO put Windows on it right and have the option on start up of booting into either that or the Mac operating system? Mac laptops are solid - anything else is not. The End.
Feb 29, 08 03:37:49
you should not wait too long though as Microsoft is stopping to ship xp within the next months
I like the samsung laptops
Feb 29, 08 05:57:49
What size are you looking for? 15 17" Have a few options but you need to be more specific.
Feb 29, 08 06:28:45
no secret, the bests are the most expensive : TOSHIBA, SONY, ASUS shouldn't disappoint you if you take the highest models

obv upgrade screen, memory whatever else you want, they arent cheap, they arent lightweight, they are amazing
Feb 29, 08 06:50:04
with some really swet upgrades the one i told you about comes to about 5k, i didnt factor in price at all though and basically just went for the biggest/best of everything....i got one with fewer upgrades for 3k and am very happy with it
Feb 29, 08 07:02:45
I have exactly the same laptop and am equally dissatisfied. My laptop is as loud as a vacuum cleaner.
Right now I am thinking about getting a Dell laptop with a 17" WUXGA screen 1920x1200 resolution like kgarnett in comment #7 suggested.
Only question is: Isn´t a 17" screen way too big if you want to carry it around?
And why on earth do I have to pay more than 1000 EURO here in Europe?
I´d like to here further poker-suitable suggestions.
Feb 29, 08 08:08:11
I have 17" Macbook Pro and it is phenomenal. Never slows down and you can run windows xp on it at the same time. 17" not too big to carry around and resolution is phenomenal. Full tilt and Pokerstars software looks great!
Pokerplayers should be concerned about RAM and Processor speed as they run multiple tables and tracking software at the same time. GL.

www.hypersonic-pc.com or www.pctorque.com
You can pick between weight/gaming and batterylife size.
Most of the machines will be fairly large so keep that in mind. 8lbs on your back through 2 hour security lines sucks.
Feb 29, 08 14:12:31
Just get a 17'' macbook pro and put XP on it.
omg I just sneezed adn its everwhere, fuick,.
Feb 29, 08 15:22:00
Man, you must get a MacBook Pro. I have just a regular MacBook and love it. (I do have a Dell desktop also, though.) Here's why the MacBook Pro is awesome... 1) It's the best notebook available on planet Earth. 2) You can put Windows XP on there and still have a kick-ass computer. 3) It won't be long 'til PT3 is 100% done, and it will be natively compatible with Mac systems. 4) Full Tilt and 'Stars already natively run on Macs. Okay, Ryan... All that being said, once you go to a Mac, you will never want a PC again. It is a little bit different to get used to, but it is so superior to the PC product. For instance, when you plug in a Kodak (...just an example.) digital camera to a PC, you have Windows' software trying to import pictures, Kodak software trying to import, and any other picture software that the computer manufacturer partnered with and loaded onto their product before you bought it. It's such a pain in the ass. When you plug in a digital camera to a Mac, you don't have to put in a CD to set up the damn drivers or anything. (There are no such things as drivers with Mac.) It just pulls up the default program that comes with Mac, which is better than all those other programs anyway, and imports your pictures...not a million choices. Just plug in the USB and go. This is the same for all devices that you can plug in. Okay...I'm done with my rant. Get a MacBook Pro! Dude, you're the gangster of online poker, aren't you? Get the gangster of notebooks! Later, man.
Feb 29, 08 19:33:45
Build your own.....this site is sick. i just ordered a ridiculous desktop off here. #1 rate custom pc site.
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/
Feb 29, 08 19:55:32
Seriously, just get a mac... they're quality built even if a bit expensive which doesn't matter all that much to you.
You can put XP on them if you want to but FT/Stars do have macos clients and PT3 will be out for mac this summer...
Mar 1, 08 01:30:17
i put this identical comment in some guy's "month end circle jerk" post LOZL
macbook pro. vmware. NOT CLOSE. stop wasting ur time. buy the shit. if i had a 7fig score i woulda bought the shit last year. forealz.
Mar 1, 08 04:48:06
Oh and I forgot to mention one of the biggest factors regarding buying a Mac. They do not depreciate in value!!! If selling it several years later you will get almost 2/3rds of what you paid for it, unlike your Dell or standard laptop which will be worthless.
Mar 5, 08 07:07:37
ryan, brian townson bought a viao said it was worst computer ever, he then bought a mac pro, havent heard yet, might be the one to ask. i just bought a dell m1730 with all power available with vista ultimate, works fine, fast. they also have this model with windows xp profesional in customize your own. for my desktop i have a dell xps1710hpc with 40 inch sony bravia main monitor and 2-24 dell monitors mounted above for stats, as many tables as you can play this would be a dream. hope this gives you some insight.null

So while in omaha, Ka$ino (wcoop main event winner) decided to draw an mspaint for you guys. i still need to convince genius to as well, but this one is pretty good
I love his insignia. i need to start doing that. i will provide more of their drawings as they make them.
omaha has been awesome. ive grinded a ton and im doing really well. im up around 25k or so in the 6 days ive been here playing a lot of 5/10-25/50 nlm, the big mtts running and 5/10-25/50 plo. whenever im out here i do extremely well, im up around 50k in 13 days in omaha. i think being around genius, watching him play and talking things over with him helps a lot as he has some of the best insights into poker out of anyone ive ever talked to. hes really an amazing player and i cant wait to see him jump back in the 200/400+ games against ivey.
im going to cool off on the plo for a little and play lower stakes for a while to see if im ready to move back up. i did well but i feel like i just ran really hot to win ~20k or so in it. i also had a fun experience shorting 200/400 on ftp. i doubled my 8k stack and left like a true ratholer. i felt pretty bad doing it as i doubled through durrrr and hes a friend and really nice guy. i decided i prob wont be doing that anymore cause i hate when people do it to me so if i ever play in the future ill buy in for 8-12k and run it up and play it out a bit.
here are a couple of the plo hands to give you an idea of me running hot:

Pretty horrendous hand for him to have, but i get there anyway. this is close i guess and probably a call based on odds because he doesnt always have spades but its still ridiculous to get there a bunch of times in my sessions. i was 26% against this particular hand, and vs AA with spades id be even worse.

am i ever not getting there with how im running? was a really good game for me to play in and im looking forward to grinding out more profit and taking some shots at it again.
ill post more when i get home but thats it for now as i have to catch a plane.
Sorry for lack of updates. Havent really been doing anything so i really have no excuse, just a lazy bum.
Been playing a good amount of poker. Has been up and down and im about even in cash, but I managed to take down the 5200 sunday freezeout which was nice. The replay will be really interesting to watch cause there were some good situations that arose.
In funny news I managed to get my ftp chat banned. A pocketfiver named USCphildo was making super troopers jokes about car ramrod, so i had to chime in. Apparently i also said some other things when i was railing the saturday 300 that in context were alright but ftp nazis decided to take me to chat jail.

Probably a good thing not to have chat on the site.
Im going to omaha tomorrow, the flight keeps getting delayed which sucks but i will get there eventually. I drew an mspaint for my friend Laurie who lives in fayetteville North Carolina. She says she always hears noises outside her house and there are 2 serial rapists on the loose so she is scared, so i drew a picture of us defending her house. My weapon of choice was a baseball bat, and hers was the wooden shield from the original egend of zelda. if its good enough for link its good enough for me.
Feb 13, 08 13:33:00
Luv the legend of zelda reference. However, I hate to tell you she looks like an excited dude in the picture!!!! I don't want to get banned from my cr posting priveleges so I will leave it at that
congrats on the freeze out.
Feb 13, 08 14:27:46
And what is even funnier is that I used to play in live games together with USCPhildo back at, well, USC :). Hilarious that SuperTroopers got your chat suspended.
Feb 13, 08 14:47:56
What are you going to be doing in Omaha Ryan? You gonna go to the Horseshoe at all?
Feb 13, 08 18:08:05
i constantly get my chat removedfrom full donk pojer.....that site actually makes me sick to even think about anymore.
Feb 14, 08 00:59:35
i told Mike matasow that he spent all of his wsop winning on drugs and hoes.... i added that i never said that it was a bad way to spend his dough....
Michelle S will get ur chat back in less then 30 days... (feb is only 29 full this year)
peace
Feb 14, 08 04:17:37
I guess there are some men that try to get laid by raping women, and other men that try to get laid by drawing MSPaints of themselves defending women from rapists
Feb 14, 08 06:40:34
My name on ftp was CarRamRod9 for a while, true story...
Anyway, if the rapists are big dudes you can always eat that giant mushroom on the table (I assume Mario Brothers Rules are in effect, tripping out with rapists around wouldn't be good).

in NC she can buy a 32 snubnose np and have it in her house
if it's small enough she can have it in her purse too if she wants to violate concealed-carry (which is a major pain to get permitage for)
Mar 3, 08 00:15:59
Your not showing this stuff or mentioning Legend of Zelda to girls are you? I mean damn, you have a lot of money and I am sure can get em but, you dont want money to be the only attraction......
Cheers.
I had a pretty good month in online cash. Pretty happy with how I played/ran, but still need to put in more volume. I wont always run this well so I need to offset that a little bit by putting maybe 50-60k hands a month. One more good month and ill be moving back to mostly bigger games.
Live tourneys went meh. Both events I busted on day 1 but it was ok because i made good swaps/buys and was lucky enough to be put into the PCA by stars this year which was great.
Overall a good month but I expect to keep it up and do even better in february.

It would be interesting to see how your AF is, its a part of my game im looking to improve :) Mine is PF 4.45 F 6.20 T 3.00 R 2.24 over 34k hands nl100
Never actually happened. But thanks to good old Dzoo from Liquidpoker and stars who has created his dream poker table and played out a hand as it would happen, we know what great poker is.
First here is the table he chose with his explanations for why he chose them:
Seat 1(and table captain): 'Curzdog' The only person who can play 8/6 and get constant action.
Seat 2: the infamous 'xxthejokerxxx' the only guy who shoves every gutshot no matter how deep u are or how little is in the pot at FR. And prolly the only person to have a 0% folds SB and BB to steal rate.
Seat 3: pre life tilt 'H@llingol' Who else thinks they are value betting 3 barrels with 10 high?
Seat 4: a new fav of mine. 'TOTMIDIAN' who else can fire 4 barrels on 3 streets? Its so scary to know that he can fire 2 bullets on the same street. I even heard that PT3 got rid of the infinity aggression symbol....its now just says 'tot_midian' in small letters.
Seat 5: 'Aragon' we all know why he is here, someone has to keep H@llingol in line. The only person I've ever called with KK preflop just to set mine vs and check fold flop to a cbet after his OR pre.
Seat 6: the best name in online poker and a personal fav 'Poopers' basically a modified and updated version of thejoker and origiator of the ridiculous overbet open shove (sickest move out there one that I have tried copying and lost many a buy in replicating)
Seat 7: another of poker's best minds 'Green Plastic'. ALtho isnt notorious for being associated with PS I had to include one of the godfathers of online poker and the fact that noone else sees a 4-5-6 all spades flop and looks down at KhJd and says 'well I have to c-bet here, but I'll give up if he calls'. Then the turn comes 7s and says 'well now I have to fire again.' He is also the originator of the PT infinity agression symbol and the reason the terms 'tricky and tough spot' were created.
Seat 8:another of LP's own. 'Wiseadvice' aka Blazed187 on stars. no matter how big u re raise his EP limp he WILL call. and he WILL hit his set. and he WILL stack u with a str8 up flop shove cuz....well u just have to pay him off.
Seat 9: obv saved the best for last. No mere words can describe this man. the only person who TRULY believes that once his BB goes in he is pot comitted to any raise pre. And the only person to overbet the pot then check fold a brick turn. AND the only person who will get 22 all in pre no matter how deep with a smile thinking he is ahead.....a hero of mine.....'Twin-caracas'
what a table. such a sick dynamic of hyper aggros, tighter than virgin fish and god knows what else. heres the most memorable hand played by the crew:

dzoo is a genius.
I've been making up for all the time i wasnt into mma by watching a lot of old fights. I gotta say i love it. Here are some things for those of you who arent into mma to get you started and into the sport. Its like chess with body parts.
First 2 pictures are from a BJ Penn vs Joe Stevenson fight. They were fighting for the vacated 155 title because the champion tested positive for steroids.

Awesome pic of the blood squirting out of his head while BJ penn is submitting him. Joe tapped out soon after

Here are some really cool videos worth seeing.
The first is the current 205 champion Quinton "rampage" Jackson back when he fought in Pride. Sick Sick slam after almost being put in an armbar by his opponent, one of the most common submission techniques:
The second is the best fighter in history Fedor getting almost slammed to death, but turning it around and using one of his favorite submissions, the kimura:
The third is a full fight of Fedor vs one of the best heavyweights, Cro Cop to give you an idea of a fight that goes the distance. Videos are rounds 1,2,3:
The Fourth is a fight between 2 of the best 205s, Wanderlei Silva and Dan Henderson, the ending is really cool:
The fifth is a fight between Silva and Quinton Jackson from before, check out the power Wandy has in his knees and how dangerous it is to get caught in a Muy Thai Clinch:
The final clip is a highlight of one of my favorite fighters, GSP:

Those videos where awesome.. I wanna see GSP vs Penn again.. This time BJ will distroy GSP.

I really like watching the UFC also but, its a bit barbaric isn't it?
Should we be enjoying watching this stuff? or should we try and ban it? i'm not sure which.
Jan 25, 08 11:48:24
Amazing how the culture in the U.S. is going down. Its like in the roman empire, the games get more barbaric and bloody and in the end the country is lost. Really shows how dumb many people in the U.S. are.
Jan 26, 08 02:28:47
fall in line or get choked out!
Jan 26, 08 04:42:08
I think you didn't get beaten or at least, you didn't get involved in a real street fight, maybe that's why you like this bloody stuff so much.
Jan 26, 08 21:12:59
I been into UFC for awhile...GSP is from here in Montreal..my hometown..the fans go INSANE here when he fights and we are all watching in teh sportsbars...UFC is having his first title defense here in Montreal on April 19th against Matt Serra! First one in Canada ever...you should come down watch the event with us yo! Matt
Jan 28, 08 07:07:48
Yeah i've heard it is safer than boxing i guess because boxers get a high volume of hits to the head where ufc is like a few hits per fight. However my worry is that people watch this stuff and then smash someone's f'ing face in real life thinking its cool or something. Its the same with action movies i guess. Dont really know where i stand on the whole issue but all i know is first night i came back from the PCA someone got beat up stabbed in the high street right where i live and i saw police chasing 3 youths up the street. Just shouldn't happen.
by the way i saw you daut eating pizza with rainkhan at the PCA, those pizzas were lovely, what topping did you go for?
Jan 29, 08 00:50:11
hey Daut,
the slam in the rampage fight happens during a triangle. I don't know how much your into BJJ but it is a choke (u probably know this as BJJ is much more evolved in the US compared to Belgium). To pick someone up during a triangle is very hard and it shows the exceptional strength of Rampage
Feb 16, 08 05:48:02
****Triangle choke**** not an armlock.
btw, it was only a sub attempt, it wasn't secured... thats why rampage got the slam...
PS: Arona put him to sleep earlier in the fight but stopped punding him and started to tell the ref that rampage was out... so stupid..
Feb 16, 08 05:50:43
LOL daut, you shouldn't post those pics here... a lot of people that doesn't know the sport and will bash it..
to the guy saying its barbaric, IT WAS ONLY A CUT. really really small...
So ive pretty much stopped playing everything besides 3/6 6max the past week. I havent been doing very well and i wanted to buckle down and grind out some profit before moving back to other things.
" alt="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/36_6max.JPG" src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/36_6max.JPG" />
" title="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/36_6max.JPG" src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/36_6max.JPG" />
">http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/36_6max.JPG"...
I just cant seem to do very well. Im for sure running under expectation, but i also havent played my best. I had 1 -4500 session in there, which made me realize that i need to be a lot stricter about my stop losses. I hadnt had a 7-8 buyin loss in a session in a long time. Im reinstating the 4 buyin stop loss for 3/6 and 5/10 and ill use a 3 buyin stoploss for games at 10/20+ in the future.
Barely winning over such a large period of hands is really frustrating. I feel like Sylvester Stallone in Rocky 3 when he is training with Apollo for his rematch vs Clubber Lang. You know the scene, where rocky is taking punches to the head from Apollo but is having flashbacks to his first fight with clubber, but he isnt going down because the punches are so much weaker.
Thats how i feel at 3/6 6max. Most of the players are just so much weaker than opponents im used to playing and i see all these awful things but keep getting my head beat in. Im going to keep fighting and work through this. I will keep reviewing all my pots where i lose 30bb or more, look for things i can improve in my game, and keep playing high volume until im comfortable to move back into other things.
THERE IS NO TOMORROW

U should try and find some of vanderlei's old bare knuckle fights from brazil. The guy is a psycho. Also check out vale tudo. Its an old promo with some of his best fights. I think some of the old pride fighters used to stay so jacked on roids that when they come to ufc and get drug tested they cant maintain there old pace. Vanderlei looked smaller and way less aggressive than he looked in his old pride fights. GSP is the most talented pound for pound and his switch to the jackson fighting camp in new mexico only made him stronger. Be careful daut this shit is addictive!
