CARDRUNNERS

I'd like to recognize some heroes today who have accomplished some great things of late.

Blair, known as blur5f6 online just destroyed FTOPS event #1 for over 145k. I didnt know he was deep that night but luckily the FTP server crashed and they had to come back the next day and finish the tournament so I could watch him end lives the next night. here's a recent picture of blair with his tin foil grill:

It's a good thing for live tourney players that randal flowers is only 19 cause he has been owning live tourneys this year. He chopped the turning stone 5k event in august for 105k and he just got 2nd in the canterbury main event up in minnesooooooooota. I always thought that famous bunny was the Canterbury bunny but really it was the cadbury bunny. Oh well i dont really care its close enough so i made randal into a bunny anyway:

Adam "Roothlus" Levy has recently joined the Daut mig naz team of all stars and wasted no time making a WPT final table at niagara, which was probably the toughest FT in the history of the WPT with actionjeff, scott clements, jon little, barry greenstein and redsoxsox. Rooth is known for (up until recently) having a special ed avatar on stars and advocating personal hygiene to success in poker. gooooo roothlus

And finally, last but not least, mr michael "martine23" martin. Mike just got 2nd in the 5k euro amsterdam classic main event. He chopped the event for 450k euros which is a maaaaaaaassive score. Here's a picture of him before the final table looking unkempt:

After my Omaha trip, I went up to new york to thorladen's house. Thor, johnny kran, my friend corwin and i stayed up there for about a week and grinded. I played much worse than I did in omaha and had a little downswing, losing 4-5 buyins at 10/20, but I definitely felt like I got a lot out of the trip pokerwise. After thor's, I went to connecticut to visit pooruser for a couple days. I had one really bad day there, losing about 20k and there were some interesting hands from the sessions. I'll post the most interesting one, i cant seem to get the cardrunners HH thing to work for it so ill just post the text:

Zeebo seemed like he was life tilting, calling 20bb shortstack all ins with like T9o so I decided he had a super wide range in his repop. 4betting was an option preflop but i didnt want to risk making a small 4bet and having him shove over me thinking he had FE so i decided to call.

I flopped a 3straight+3flush and decided to call, see the turn and decide what i was going to do. If he checked to me, i would base what i did on what turned.

-if i turned an 8+ out draw (oesd, flush draw, or combo draw) i was going to bet about 80% pot and obv call all in if he shoved

-if i turned nothing i would check back and bluff the river if he checked to me

-if i turned a 4-5 out draw (pair or gutshot) i was going to shove

Obviously there are some other things going on in this hand, i.e. am i repping something credible? I thought this was a little less important than the fact that he probably has nothing (he showed up with K8o, think of how many times he has total air), but my thinking was i would shove the flop with a draw and i cant have air here so i must have an ok hand. However, im not sure in his state he would buy this so he might even call with TT 99 type hands. Anyway i made the play and i think its good because i think he has napkins here so much tha the just check folds a high % and when he does happen to call i always have at least 4 outs.

So after pooruser's i decided to take a few days off from poker because the -20k day was pretty frustrating. Then I had the brilliant idea to try 22 tabling at 1/2 full ring out because i was only about 17k vpp away from 300k which gives me a 3k bonus. Things started off really really bad and it seemed like i had totally forgotten how to play low stakes. Here is my first session:

I got crushed pretty hard. I was bluffing too much, trying to get too tricky in certain spots and not making enough laydowns when it was obvious they had monsters.

Since then things went much better and I adjusted pretty well (notice how tight i was playing, i think its sort of necessary at low stakes):

I think I can probably make about 250-300 an hour 22 tabling 1/2 now that I've figured out the best way to play. Check out one cool laydown i made:

I really thought I was beating nothing in his range and preferred this bet/fold line over check behind on the turn because its still fairly drawy.

Anyway, im almost done getting to 300k vpps so I wont have to bother playing 1/2 anymore, im pretty excited to be moving back to 10/20 in the upcoming days as I miss playing real poker.

Besides poker, i've bought a lot of new things this week. I picked up a 24" monitor from best buy and i really love how much more i can fit on a screen, im going to pick up another 24" later this week and ill give my mom one of my old 20". I also bought a ton of movies and stuff. I'm really happy with picking up the showtime series Weeds and The office.

weeds is about this widowed mother of 2 who turns to dealing weed in an upper class gated community because she is short on cash and doesnt know what else to do. It's really great and I recommend picking it up, you can breeze through the first 2 seasons in a day, at least i did.

Im also really happy with my purchase of the special edition transformers movie set. It came with 2 toys, optimus prime and cliffjumper, which i play with when im railing people deep in tournaments

and obv one picture of megan fox
