I have not had a big hand lose to quads in a long time (In fact, I cant remember anytime in the last year).  But yesterday, It happened twice.

The first hand I think I played well, got it all in on the turn, and he rivered the quad.  However, the second hand, I think i could have just called his re-raise assuming we had a split pot, instead of shoving and losing to his quads.

Quads happen so infrequently that I dont even consider this possibility; perhaps I should.

Here are the two hands:

Ok, maybe not.  The "export" button for the hand tools is not working.

So, I will just write it out

Hand 1:

I have AA and raise.  I get a caller.  The flop has A 5 3.  I bet and he calls.  The turn is a Ten.  I bet, he reraises, I push all in and he calls.  I am thinking I am doubling up here.  Well, the river is a 5 so I think I have the best full house and am cheering.  OVer comes quad 5s.  I played this hand well so no worry here.

Hand 2:

I have A 4 in the big blind so I am in.  The flop is A88.  Checked around.  The turn is an Ace.  So, in my mind, I am not considering quads so I think I have the nuts.  I check, the guy bets.  I reraise.  He reraises again.  Now, if i was thinking for a moment, I could have figured he had an Ace so it would have been a split so it was prudent just to call.  I had nothing to gain by pushing all in at this point.  Well, I pushed all in and he flips over quad 8s.  I really think I could have saved half my stack by just calling his 4bet.

I got in a few hands last night and did a mix of 25NL and 50NL, threw in some 100 6max and made a decent profit. But I had a strange day with KK.

I received KK 31 times during my play. I raised or 3-bet with all of them. 28 of them saw a flop. (no all ins pre).

Out of the 28 times my KK saw the flop, 21 of them an Ace came on the flop, and 2 of them an Ace came on the turn. Two times the board gave us 4 cards in a straight. by the river.

Now, what I think is wierd is 23/28 times the two or three aces in the deck came out. That must be out of the ordinary and I have never seen that kind of frequency before. It was becoming laughable later in my session and it kept happening.

A wierd day all around for Kings.

I also watched a video while at work yesterday, the recent one from fonkey123. He seems to have alot of confidenceand he played good and made some money. I will watch it again for sure and see what I can learn.

I hit Quads during my 100NL 6max game. I have not done much research on how to correctly play Quads so I am quite sure I lost alot of value of of my hand. This is how I played it and didnt make much:
