What's Your Edge
I have not done a whole lot of anything over the past few days but work. We've been rushed at work and thats put some pressure on us to do more work then we usually do in one day, which causes for a hectic day.
I've played some but not much. Here are some pt stats for the past 4 days.
Still doing well at $0.50/$1 NL games and will continue to play here until the late part of the month.
I'm done lying to you guys about when I'm going to get pictures up of the desktop, I will get them up in the future though I can asure you that ! I'm loving the new desktop (22"inch dual Samsung montiors) and playing solid on them so far ! I'm off for the night though, you guys take it easy and gl at the tables !
So April has come to an end and I am happy with the results, but obviously unhappy with the amount of hands I put in. What caused me to play less hands basically has been the weather. The days that it is nice outside, I get the bike out and ride with some friends. It's hard to stay inside the house when the weather starts getting nice, but I had fun so w/e !
About a month and half ago, I dropped down to $0.50/$1.00 NL 6 max basically because of a few reasons....For one, I was running bad at my regular game $1/$2 NL over about 10k-12k hands or so, I had to loan out about $2,000 worth to family, + I wanted to work on my game. The roll had dropped bellow $5,000 and I really like to have around 35-40 + buy ins for the limit I play.
Here are Poker Tracker stats for the month of April with a short $1/$2 NL session that I played also.
Obviously need to put in more hands ! I am now +$5,000 in the roll and will probably jump back in the $1/$2 NL game somewhere towards the end of the month, maybe sooner I'm not sure. I'm doing well at the $0.50/$1.00 NL game so I'm going to try to get in around 20k more hands here or so, and see how it goes.
Today, May 1st, rough day at work. We put in a long hard day and got off around 5:30 p.m., boy was I sure glad to get home ! Got me a shower, a little somethin to eat, and fired up some tables. Here are todays stats.....
A few pots that were played today....
Set over Set, money is going in everytime. www.pokerhand.org/
I LOL'd after this hand was over. Another cooler, Top 2 vs Middle set. www.pokerhand.org/
Basically I flopped a set here, and did some work. www.pokerhand.org/
Standard 4 bet spot pre-flop with AK vs Reg who goes nuts and pays me off. www.pokerhand.org/
Ad Kd , flop over cards and nut draw, money goes in. www.pokerhand.org/
Thats all I have for now. Also I realize I have been promissing you guys pics of the new desktop setup that I'm playing on now days (dual 22" samsung monitors and loving it) and still have yet to produce. My friend Matt is going to try to get me some pics this week so I can post them, so hopefullly I can get that taken care of. Anyways I got another long day at work tomorrow, and I found out we have to work Saturday and possibly Sunday as well, so I'm going to call it a night and try to get some rest. Thanks for reading and GL at the tables !
First of all, I've promised pictures of my new dual monitor set up I just recently got through setting up in the last few blog posts and I've failed to come through ! I have a digital camera that pretty much sucks, and when I take pictures of my desktop in my room, the pictures come out dark. I've messed with the flash and a few other options, but still can't figure it out. I'm hoping my friend matt can get me a picture or 2 with his camera sometime soon so I can post one up !
Anyways as far as poker goes, I've been working alot lately, but I have been playing during the evening times. I played a short session of $1/$2 NL yesterday and got in a few hands of $0.50/$1.00 NL today, and continue to playing out the rest of the month at $0.50/$1 NL and maybe some $1/$2 NL.
Here are the Poker Tracker stats for the entire month.
I'm very happy with my results, but still somewhat unsatisfied with the amount of hands I've played. I really wanted to turn it up a notch and put in close to 40k-50k hands this month, which is still possible, but we'll have to see !
Blog posts have been kinda boring lately I feel like, especially with not posting any interesting pots that I've played, and I'm going to try to stop being so lazy and try to spice it up in the near future ! Anyhow, have to get up for work in about 7 hours so gunna relax then pass out for the night ! Thanks for reading and GL at the tables !
What have I been doing lately ? ! Actually over the past week or so, I've been spending time riding my bike with a few friends, it's been way to nice outside not to ! I've been working quite a bit recently as well, we had a few days off last week, but back hard at it this week so that all evens out. I've been putting in a few hands as well. Here are some updated pt stats.
I beleive in my last blog post I uploaded an image of all the hands I had currently at $0.50/$1.00 NL since I had stepped down from $1/$2 NL and this image are all the hands I've played at $0.50/$1.00 NL since then, basically 7.4ks later.
The PT stats that are being shown here are all the hands I've put in this month, shotting for around 30K hands this month, on pace !
All these hands are as of March 24th which was the first session I played at $0.50/$1.00 NL since I had decided to drop down from $1/$2 NL for a while to work on my game. As much cards as I have played over the past year and a half, I'm still picking up on somethin new here and there that helps me not only become a better player but also increase my winrate, which is always important. I will continue to learn and continue to put in the hands ! I'm expecting to put in around 35K-40K hands at $0.50/$1.00 NL before I jump back in my regular game. I'm beating the 100nl game right now for almost 7 bbs/100 and very happy with my results and can't wait to get back to $1/$2 NL games !
Also, I finally got my desktop put together, got everything set up how I wanted it, and I'm still stunned at what I have. About a year and 4 months ago I was grinding the LOW LOW limits on a 17inch beat up compac that would get hottttttttttt but I never complained and used it. Hardwork has paid off and hopefully will continue to pay off, I now have dual 22's and can play much more confortably ! After the 17inch compac I went to a 15inch vaio, and have been playing 6 tables on that thing ! Long story short, I'm very happy and fortunate to have what I have ! Unfortunately I haven't got around to take pics of the new computer setup in my room, but I will get around to that soon and post up some pics.
Anyways this is getting kinda long so I'm going to wrap it up, my goal is to get back up to $1/$2 NL by the first of May. Ima call it a night, thanks for reading and gl at the tables !!!!!!

Good discipline mate. And in turn the results and money came at 100NL. GL for when you get back to the 200NL tables.

Recently, well about the 23rd of last month I had decided to drop from $1/$2 NL 6 max down to $0.5/$1 NL 6 max for a # of reasons stated in a previous blog post. Since then, I have not put in a lot of hands at this limit by no means, and I plan on putting in about another 15k-20k hands at this limit before I jump back in the $1/$2 NL where I have originally been playing. Since the 23rd of last month I've managed to put in a little over 14k hands, and my goal was to put in about 15k hands. If I did well, then I was going to jump back into the $1/$2 NL game. I have done very well over the last 14k hands but I beleive I'm going to put in atleast 15k hands and I beleive I will be ready.
Dropping down a limit sucks, but really it's not that bad, and I think it sharpens your game alot with other great things. I know alot of people have trouble dropping down a limit for X amount of hands, but theres absolutely nothing wrong with it. I've been able to find a few spots in my game where I can pick up a pot or 2 extra here and there, use pot control a little better, and get thinner value in spots where I havn't been before, and all this has made a huge impact in my game. I'm playing so solid right now it actually scares me ! Anyways here are some pt stats for the hands at $0.50/$1.00 NL 6 max games since I dropped down.
I'm off Tuesday, and possible Weds and Thursday so I should have a few more thousand hands added to that ! I've been playing 6 tables on this 15 " laptop and doing quite well, but I'm looking forward to getting my desktop built and set up. I received all my computer parts in today and I've got both 22 " samsung monitors, I'm ready to go. Sometime late Tuesday night my friend Tyler, his cousin is going to put it together for me so definitely looking forward to that. I'm going to love this especially grinding on a laptop forever, so this is a huge upgrade for me that should have been done a long time ago ! Once I get everything set up I'll post up some pictures of the new goodies. Anyways its 2:35 a.m. I'm tired obviously and going to get some rest ! Thanks for reading and take it easy people !
Ahhh it has been a while since I made a blog post. A little over a week I see ! Anyhow, I've just been working alot, playing some cards here and there, not a whole lot, and riding my new bike. Weather has been great outside lately, so I've been taking advantage of that !
About a week ago or so I decided that I needed to step it down from $1/$2 NL and put in some hands at $0.50/$1 NL. The main reason is because I had been running fairly terrible lately, and that got my confidence down somewhat, which shouldn't happen but I feel as though it did. Also over the 15K hands at $1/$2 I know I wasn't playing my A game, and I think this might have cost me about 0.5BB/100 or so. Theres nothing wrong with moving back down a limit, yeh it sucks, but so what, I think I'm going to play here until I have about 15,00 hands which is not very much, and I've already got about 6K hands, before I move back up to $1/$2 NL. Here are some pt stats for both limits for the month.
Also last night, I ordered everything I needed for a desktop computer with 22" dual monitors, so all that should come in this week. I still need to get a new computer desk though, I'll do that sometime early this week as well. I'm actually looking forward to getting all that set up, and to start playing on the desktop. I've always played poker on this 15" vaio and an old 17" compac, which both have done well, but It's time to step up. I just started 6 tabling on the 15" vaio about a month or so ago and the tables are small, but I like it. I can just imagine how much nicer its going to be playing poker on a nice desktop setup which I've never had ! Also once this is all setup and ready to go, I should be putting in alot more hands, which I need to do for sure. This 20K hands per month isn't going to cut it !
Anyways I'm going to get off here and enjoy whats left of the weekend and watch some tv. Heres a picture of my bike in HDR, props to Matt for doing the picture work and you guys take it easy !
$1/$2 NL
Basically this month, I can't seem to break even at the $1/$2 NL games. I feel I have played somewhat ok, but not 100 % to my capability. Also I've been 6 tabling this month instead of 4 tabling and that I think may have something to do with it, but I dunno. I'm going to finish off the rest of the month going back to 4 tables and lower if needed, to try to get this thing turned around. Here are some pt stats so far for the month.
Other then that, I've been spending time fixing up the bike I recently bought and have been riding with my friend Tyler. Heres a pic of the bike.
I'm very tired, its 1:30 a.m. and I gotta get up to go to work, but we only have like 2 hours of work to do, but anyways I'm off here to bed. I'll be playing over the weekend and all next week probably. You guys take it easy and I'll ttyl !

Hey Devin,
My name's Ryan; I've been living in the OKC/Midwest City area for nearly a year now. I've been peeking around for other CardRunners members in the area, and haven't found many thus far. If you're not too busy sometime, I'd sure enjoy a chance to meet you. I haven't met a great deal of people in Oklahoma yet, and don't know anyone else that enjoys playing poker on a regular basis. Feel free to hit me up with a PM or on MSN (shorele17@hotmail.com).
Also, congrats on the bike. Looks like you'll be having some great weekends to ride coming up soon!

ehhh ! I knew it had been a while since I made a blog post, but WOW, I didn't realize it had been this long. I used to stay on top of this thing, blog here and there once a day on average normally, and now have slacked way off, therefore I apologize to those of you who read the blog. I am going to try to update around once or twice a week, and see how it goes from there.
Anyhow lately I've been quite buzy with a number of things. About a week ago, Tyler (best friend) and I got ourselfs brand new sport bikes to ride especially since summer is almost here . (We both got 2007 Yamaha R6, I got the blue/black he got the red/black). After getting the bikes, we decided it was some time for modifications. We ordered up some parts online and did away with alot of the stock parts on the bike. I think by the end of this new week we will have all the mods we want on there until next month. When I bought the bike, I had to get insurance set up, go get the tag and title taken care of, and get a motorcycle course out of the way for insurance purposes/along with exempting us from part of a test at DMV. All this has kept me very buzy lately, especially with work, and hockey games.
As far as poker goes, I've got roughly 7,000 hands in this month, and didn't get to play at all over the weekend, due to the MSF course. I'm playing great poker lately, but am in the midst of comming out of a minor downswing (7 buy ins) and I'm sure I will recover by the end of this week and start rolling a profit for this month. Here is a picture of some pt stats for this month so far.
The stats are off roughly 1 buy in. I'm actually down $780.00 due to Ultimate Bet's WONDERFUL hand histories !
I've got delt AA to KK 5 times total this month. 3 of the 5 times the month went all in preflop for a $400 + pot. and I lost. Another time i got delt KK to AA , money went in pre-flop vs a guy with $115, for a roughly $230 pot and I sucked out ! Last but not least, I doubled up a $40 stack who busted my KK with AA. Enough KK to AA already ! Nah, j/p, your going to run into this every great once in a while and it happens, you guys know that ! I'm comming back stronger then ever though !
I lost a few re raise pots with AK flopping top pair top kicker, getting it in vs a set one time, and a flush draw the other.
Basically other then that, I've won pots here and there as well, and just beating up on the fish. I'm to tired to post hands today, but count on hand historys in the future.
I got to get up in the morning to go to work, so I'm off to bed. I'll get some pictures up of the bike sometim this week hopefully since it's going to be nice outside. You guys take it easy I'm outa here !

I did manage to get in a few hands today after work/relaxin/ and all that other good stuff. Session went alright, can't complain, and booked a win. Heres a few hands with some pt stats. I'm off to bed, work tomorrow followed up with some more cards tomorrow night hopefully ! TTYL
This was less than 40 hands into the session, obviously a cooler, what can u do ? ! www.pokerhand.org/
This hand worked out perfect. I had played another hand similar to the board texture in a single raised pot against the same guy, where I double barrelled a scare card on the turn with air basically, and he called me with A7 on like a 379K board, and my hand got shown down as air, so I decided to overshuve all in in this hand and still got paid off. www.pokerhand.org/
Another pot I won. www.pokerhand.org/

Hey guys ! I havn't been playing a WHOLE lot of poker lately. I've actually spent quite a bit of time looking at used bikes all over the place, trying to find the exactly one I want, and just havnt had any luck. Instead I went down to the Yamaha dealership today and told the sales guy "I WANT THAT ONE RIGHT THERE!" We were in the middle of heading to our next job went we stopped in, so I left the guy a $1,000 deposit down and went back to work with dad. We came back about 3 hours later, I paid the the rest of the bike off. ($8,100 total) and my dad drove the 2007 Yamaha R6 home while I followed him back with my friend Tyler in my truck. Bike is now chilling in the garage, I'm a happy camper right now, and thanks to poker I was able to pay it off through the roll, which still leaves me roughly $5,000 online to work with + parents owe me $11,000, and that will slowly go back to the roll since thats where it came from.
So, I got what I wanted, + it has only 10 miles on it now, no scratches since new, I'm happy. It's time for Tyler to step it up and get one himself, I beleive he's looking for an 06-07 Yamaha R6 as well, and can't wait till he get his to. Anyways this week I got to step it up at the tables and put in some hands, and finish off the month strong. I got roughly 10k in this month and I'm up $800, can't complain I guess but 10K hands is weak, I need to be playing alot more then that ! I'm off here for the night.
Heres a pic of the bike today (camera is terrible) sitting in the garage stock. I have a few modifications in mind and those will take place over the next few months or so.
