Bankroll = $3,596.60

I'm running better than I ever have. Given that I just moved up, the rungood has come at a perfect time. I need to push myself a little harder to get more hands in but I think I can do it this week.

Other than just play more I want to keep watching a video every couple of days. The amount of knowledge available on this site is really impressive and I need to take advantage of it.

I also just realized that I got a free month of stox poker through the free poker training promotion. Does anyone know which coaches/ videos are good to check out on stox? Please post a comment.

Hope everyone's got the rungood as well

Bankroll = 3,244.55

Today was my best day ever. First, I watched a nutedawg video. Then, I made $444.65 ($463.70 including rakeback) in 874 hands. I played 3 sessions. The first, played pretty poorly but ran really well and made a couple buyins. I'm glad I noticed that I was playing poorly, took a break, and came back refocused. The other 2 sessions, I played my A-game and continued to have good results. I hope I can keep this run going.

Here are graphs of January and February and stats for the year so far:

My total earnings are $2350 + $225 for my full tilt year end bonus.

Bankroll = $2,737.52

I beat up on rush poker at the end of January and finished the month up a little over $1700. That was far and away my best month ever. Rush got kind of boring so I'm moving back to "slow" poker and trying to break in to 100nl. I've played around 1500 hands so far and am break even. Adjusting to the bigger numbers has been tough but I've got enough of a bankroll that I just need to focus on playing my game.

My goals for February are to put in over 30k hands 4-tabling 100nl, make over $2k, and watch 10 CR vids. I know monetary goals suck but whatever. I'll post a graph of January tomorrow.

Good luck everyone

Bankroll = $1,780

Things have been going alright recently. I'm break even over my last 10k hands but I'm ready to get back to making progress. I haven't watched any of the videos I mentioned earlier and need to begin getting through them to make sure I stay sharp. Once I win another 8ish buyins at 50nl, I'll take a 5 buyin shot at 100nl.

I've also been playing some rush poker recently. It's a lot of fun and really profitable. I'm not sure how long it will remain so soft so for the next few days I'm going to split time between playing rush and playing old slow poker.

Best of luck everyone

Bankroll = $1,379.44

Since I moved up I'm up $587 in just under 10k hands. I feel really good about my game at the moment and just want to keep winning.

I've got a coaching session tomorrow and also want to watch the recent live session videos by Nutedawg and Vitalmyth as well as the "So you've been raised" series by Citizenwind. The Citizenwind series I have watched before but I want to refresh myself on the principles since a lot of the times I feel lost are when facing a raise post flop.

I've got about $300 in bonuses coming in the next weekish, so hopefully I can keep playing well and be ready to take shots at 100NL soon.

Best of luck everyone.

Bankroll = $1093.29

I've been feeling really good about my game recently and decided to take a shot at 50NL with $900. While that BRM is a little bit loose, I've got my fulltilt iron man bonus coming mid-January and thus figured being a bit aggressive was ok.

So far, in 1410 hands I'm up $190.40. I went down $110 in the first 150 hands so my 3 buyin shot almost ended really quickly. I kept playing well despite running badly in all-ins and really turned it around.

Hope everyone's having a good holidays!

Bankroll = $853.43

Not much to say other than that I've booked wins my last couple days and brought December back to break even (including rakeback) despite a $950 downswing between 25nl and 50nl. Hopefully I can keep this run going and be back at 50nl within the next few days.

I just finished watching jcl's new high stakes video and it was awesome. Here's to improving a shit load in '10. I'll post some goals tomorrow.

Happy new year everyone!

I was really happy with how I played today. I ran pretty terribly but by game selecting well and I don't think I made any big mistakes in a little over 1100 hands which I am proud of.

I recently watched Citizenwind's most recent video and he talks about spazz value. I'm adding this to my list of things to focus on since it something I've recently been ignoring. Here's a hand where I certainly could be beat but I think my line encourages villain to bluff as much as possible:

Here's another hand where I think my small turn donk caused my opponent to spazz on the river:

I'm not too far away from being able to take another shot at 50nl and hope to get there soon. Between now and the new year, however, I won't have much time to play. Regardless, hopefully I can keep the good run going.

Bankroll = 740.03

I went through my HEM this morning paying particular attention to big loosing hands from the last week and made the following notes:

To Remember:
- Draws have non-fold equity
- I can't rep many random draws in 3 bet pots
- Fish don't overbet bluff
- Steal more in limped pots

I then played some hands and finished up 5 buyins which was quite nice.

Fold I am proud of:
weaktight.com/1837752

Here I checked the flop expecting one of the two villains to take a stab (Their Agg Frequencies were 34% and 50%), but I knew if the UTG player bet big I was in trouble. He had bet/folded a few times since he sat down but they were all smallish bets. Combine this with the fact that the button called and I would be playing deep, out of position, with one pair, against an aggressive opponent, and I think it was a clear fold.

Remember there are many types of fish.

A true fish doesn't bluff at all, let alone overbet bluff!

Bankroll = 617.35

I had a really weird realization today. Every session I make a number of bluffs, value bets that I am really proud of. I finish the hand and think that my play won me pure reciprocal dollars that my opponent would not have won. I am not sure, in my entire poker career, if I have made such a fold. This is a huge leak and I need to fix it.

Over my last 60k hands between 25nl and 50nl I'm a slight winner despite a 48.8% W$SD. I think I've run pretty badly but that's clearly not the issue. I've missed the point that winning in poker involves both getting more when you are ahead AND losing less when behind.

Looking at how bad some of my calls have been, I'm really impressed with the rest of my game that has allowed me to tread water. My W$WSF is %45.5 which I think reflects how much I have improved at hand reading.

While I don't have that much time to play between now and the new year, every time I do I'm going to focus on folding. All of those spots in the past where I thought to myself, "I hope he doesn't bet because if he does I'm screwed" and then called to see the bad news I knew was there aren't going to happen any more, period.

Dec 26, 09 02:29:46

I just checked my HEM and I've been stacked 22 times in my last 12.5k hands. Yikes.

Take a look thro HEM at the hands you are losing at SD and look for patterns. Are they hands of a particular type? or some other factor.

I recently tracked a number of apparent leaks in my game, things I was doing to take a profitable play and make it breakeven, and some slightly -EV plays. I have 12 notes in a text file on my desktop to remind each session, and a strategy to counter the leak.

Additionally, don't just think about folding. Think about how you could play the hand differently, in a way that would get you more information and allow you to make correct folds.

But yeah, agree that calling when you already figure you are toast BEFORE the bet is dumb. We all do it sometimes.

Finding the fold button is a skill that people hugely underestimate.

The key to folding is hand reading and the transitional stage is hand reading well but still calling. A lot of people stay in the transitional stage forever!

If you hand read well, and learn to trust your reads enough to make tough folds, then you have cracked it!
