WoW! there is a new layout i think it looks way better.

So today i played a bit won about 50$. Another meh day. I am going to return my laptop probably the 1900x1200 screen on a 15inch is way too small for me. I might just update my desktop with another monitor or video card and definately get some ram. my friend just bought 4gb ddr2 800mhz of ram at frys for 15$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wtf?!?!? that is so sick. =)!

Also yesterday i was playing 200nl trying out a moves where i limp my entire range UTG and UTG+1 preflop its pretty interesting. I pulled of a lot of squeeze plays where i limp someone iso another flat and i reraise. I feel like this move is exactly the same as squeezing from the blind oop cuz if the CO iso and button flats its still a great situation and in some ways i get more FE! Also i think ppl give me a much narrower range than i really have in these situations and it enbles me to value own them. But then ppl wonder if i'm c/f a lot then how is that profitable well if i just c/f it isn't going to be profitable but i can donk lead a freqency that is good and my range is way stronger than theirs in general. And i can bluff knowing what they think of as my range and i can sorta tell when they start to realize my range is different. I dunno its not something i'm going to try at 400nl yet till i figure it out more thats why i don't really mind talking about it but its something i will try in the future if it pans out to be reasonable.

Another excercise i had been doing at 200nl is playing 60/55 on a 6max table it has helped me realize a lot. I was winning concistantly till i ran into  a hand where i had top two on a Ah10h9s board. I had been beating on this guy and obv he showed up with 99 but o well. That hand put me at about equal for the session. However what it made me realize is that i got way better at playing marginal situations and hands in general. I feel like if you can play 50/40 for a good sample at neutral or +ev it really means u have a great grasp on how to play each hands. Then once you can do this i think shrinking down to 22/18 when 3 tabling or 20/17 while 6-9tabling will basically make you unexploitable and very hard/impossible to beat.

I like the new C/R layout i think it looks a lot more clean. Also they reset the views which i think is great, it was sorta dumb how the older members were impossible to beat because of the old flawed counting method! Good job CR! =)

So today i played 6 tables and i felt better again. I felt a little bad about a few of my plays, i bluffed with a 400$ stack vs a unknown in a 3 bet pot on the turn with 2 overs and a flush draw. I think vs a good thinking player its a good bet but vs a super donk his range was way wider and could hit that board more. At the time i thought he was a reg he was playing like 25/18 but i did table ratings on him and hes -50k so o well. The rest of the hands were pretty standard i was getting 3bet a lot but it was just unfortunate because the % they were 3betting me is super exploitable however i was not getting a range capable of exploiting it. Basically just a Meh day.. Its ok though i've only had like 3 down sessions this month so all good. One thing that is worrying me though is i only have 40ish buyins for 400nl now since i cashed out about 25 buyins in the last 4 weeks. So if i lose some more ill play some 200nl and if i win some more ill play 600nl-1knl soon. I don't really care which one to be honest i just want to get better at poker. And i feel like cashing out was so stupid because if i left in the 25 buyins i'd be taking a lot of serious shots at 1knl by now but now i have to wait a while... fuck.

So today i tried to 12 table 6max at 400nl. It went pretty badly i started off great then i started missing hands and not keeping up. My reads were not as good and i think i played pretty bad. I got into one hand where i donk led JJ on a monotone flop and it was a overpair.... i wanted to value bet top pairs light because it was a drawy board where i can rep a lot of marginal draws and get multiple streets from top pair. However if i check call or c/r i am probably only going to get 1 street and if i a c/c it will probably go c/c he checks behind turn he value bets river but that means he gets to see his draws free and check behind if hes good. if i c/r My pocket pair and he 3bet jams i have to fold and he can have a lot of semi bluffs in his range. If i donk and he raises i can comfortably call and if he flats i can bet most turns although i would want to c/c on good bluff cards as to let him follow through on his floats. However if its a bad bluff card then it also prob a card lower than top pair and therefore is a good card to double donk into him for value. So the turn came a K and i c/c and the river comes a blank and he makes a big bet, in general i really think its a fold but i wanted to kinda see his hand and figure out how he is interpreting my donk leads. But ya i think i learned a crap load and i think he played it well in general. One thing though is i think that if i was not playing 12 tables i could find a fold based on his river size, i liked his turn size though.  i felt way out of it today =( 12 table i have to admit is too much.

I was testing out 12tabling today because i wanted to go for SNE and if i 12 table 400nl and 600nl that would be about 5 hours a day of playing. There is no way i could even 12 table for 2 hours a day i mean i might get used to it but i start to tilt really bad cuz i think to myself i have a higher winrate than a lot of these guys but i dont anymore cuz im on 12 tables now regs are raping me and i am now the exploited one. It kinda reminds me of how taylor loves multitablers and owns them because they can't obviously pay attetion to the level he can... and in general i just felt like a ATM for the top regs and i was raking in mad money from the tagfish and donks. I feel like i would rather 6-8 table and win at 7-9ptbb and really think about my plays and reads and try to play good poker than playing 12 and just grinding my way to SNE and being unhappy everyday and moving up limits way slower... that 180k? i think is just not worth it.! o well =D

Most of the day i was out i was probably only home 1-2 hours today. Anyways when i was home i 1 tabled some 600nl cuz i found a mega donk who was spewing. All the players but  the donk and a 1000nl player were regulars i've seen at 400nl. This time though i was tired and playing a video game at the sametime so i avoided all the regs as best i could. The mega donk spewed off about 1.8k before deciding to quit sadly. I got on the table after he already spewed off 2 buyins. I won about 200$ before he left which was nice. Overall i felt comfortable i did a 4bet bluff on some douche who was trying to squeeze my utg open because i felt like to them my fold to 3bet was too high since i was avoiding regs to play the donk. But i realized they saw this so i started to bluff their sqeezes because its obvious to me if they have AA are they going to douche squeeze(my term for a squeeze when a superdonk mega spewer flats in the middle) a reg or flat to play against the super donk who was spewing 600$ at a time. I think the choice is clear and so i started to play back at those squeezes light. So in the end i only got like 90$ off the donk and 110$ off a regs 3bets. So overall a good day i just wish i was home more to play.

As for the bet we have called it off, this is because manish is taking shots at 1000nl$ and i am taking shots at 600nl$. We had a talk and our conclusions were that 11k is nice and all but to us we play poker to move up limits and get better not entirely money. And we felt that the bet would either make us not take the shot or make us scared of losing a lot when we do take a shot in fear of losing the bet. Either way we were both at about 4k$/11$k and couldve both probably pulled out a win.  I'm going to keep track and try to hit 11k regardless of canceling the bet i feel like i can do it if i take concervative shots at 600nl and plays 400nl.

On a side note i cashed out another 2500$ today so that puts me at 10k$ cashed in the last 4 weeks, so i haven't used any passes yet. I thought i was going to but i always forced myself to cashout a day later because i felt like a lazy ass. I'm happy to say that my roll online is about the same as what i started with 4 weeks ago.

Also my laptop is being shipped early and should arive tomorrow! Awsomes!! i can't wait to grind in my backyard or in the living room or at my friends house! =) Poker lan anyones?!?!?!?!

So today i got some sushi and i went out and spent like 400$ on christmas gifts for the cousins and grandparents. Auctually....basically i just gave my mom 400$ and told her to buy stuff for them cuz i have no idea what they want. Other than that i think this is going to be the first christmas i'm not going to get any gifts, other than the ones i get for myself. Its kinda cool and kinda sad half of me wants a gift really bad cuz its fun getting random stuff for free but the other half of me is happy that i can be on the giving side inside of the taking side this time!

Hrm so as far as poker goes i played 2 sessions today for about a total of an hour and won 600$. It was pretty uneventful i ran a nut straight into 2 sets for a 1.2k pot. The rest of the day was meh, lost a few flips and overall just grinded up and down. I thought the bet would make me play more but i was out all day... i went to charles schwab, sushi, the pool store to get some acid to fix the ph in the pool and went to blockbuster to get batman! I planned on getting some new seinheiser headphones at circut city but got lazy..... so i think ill just order them online.

As for the bet i'm at about 3050$ out of 11,000$ and i played a total of 2k hands in 6 days... I need some way to motivate myself to play more i feel like a lazy fuck.  If it wasn't for the bet i would probably start playing 600nl but we said that only 400nl hands count. So fuck o well. Starting jan 1st if i accomplish this goal ill be playing 600nl and 1knl.

Since the 1st is in a month i started about thinking about new years poker resolutions.

1. Have $100,000 cashed out in cash before i turn 21.

2.  Play an average of 2 hours every day.

3. Be able to run 5 miles at 9 mins a mile...i used to be able to run like.. 5 miles at 7mins a mile =/ and now i doubt i could run 5 at all.

4. Make $1,000,000 before i'm 23

So i guess those are my goals but i suck so bad at sticking to goals! i am suprised though i have achived most of the goals i set for myself when i started at 25nl. So hopefully i can achieve these too. Gl everyone at the tables and peace out!!!!!!!!!

I am having major issues with forcing myself to play... I put in a 20 min session today and won 200$. One thing i've realized recently was that my 8k downgswing earlier this year at 400nl was bad variance but at the same time it just proved how small my winrate was. I think that if someone has a crazy swing like that doesnt mean your for sure -ev however it does mean your winrate is like 0.5ptbb-1ptbb or your tilting so your winrate at that time is that low. Since i took time off playing to just study a month and had probably 12 hours of training from tommy i've had very little massive swings and i play the game completely differently. I dont really think its a coincidence i think though sometimes people dismiss downswings as being all variance too much, i know i did. Looking back now it really was my fault even if i was a 0.3-1ptbb winner. Basically with that winrate i'm just setting myself up to have a shitty variance filled life cuz at that winrate that kinda dowswing is normal. Anyways i only made 200$ today so im at about 2300-2400 since the bet started on the 3rd. Its good but so far i've only averaged about 40 mins a day... shitty...

On a side note i promised months ago i would never have students for money. I said that i will only take on students who are close friends and train them for free because they are my homies. So at this point in time i am training two people. One i would consider my student and the other just a friend i'm helping out. The student started playing poker very recently he didn't know if Q5s was way better than 910s when we started 3 months ago. Now i'm proud to say he started at 25nl with 20 buyins and soon will probably take his first shots at 100nl soon!!! sick =) To be honest i've spent probably 20-40 hours on him and he plays only 1-2 times a week(cuz hes in school) but besides range reading(which will just take just more hands) and limited time to build his bankroll he is already good enough to beat 200nl. The other person im helping out was already a very good player before we started lessons. I think right now he is ready for 200nl and in probably 2 weeks he will be good enough for a 2-3ptbb winrate at 400nl if we just go over a few more concepts and he applys them in some hands. I am very excited and am very lucky to have smart friends cuz i like teaching people and seeing them do well. So GL to u guys and im looking forward to ur success.

sooo I checked out my stats since my lesson 3 weeks ago?? here they are, i think 10-12bb is sustainable to be honest. So i guess im runnin over expectation by a few bbs. My stats were nittier than i thought but i attirbute it to playing 9 tables at 6max and tightening up to some crazy ppl who just SPEW! Anyways /brag and GL  AT THE TABLES

December 08, 2008

So today my internet was down for the majority of the day but i got in a good session for about 30 mins and won 200$. randomly in the middle my hud crashed and i started tilting cuz i was trying to fix it while i had 6 tables open. I was just saying "why the fuck wont it work god damn it" and getting pisst off and playing pretty bad. Either way 200$ win ill take it... =)! so im at 2050/11,000.

So in short i got a dell xps 1530 today for 1060$ with a 2.4ghz core 2 duo 4gb ram 8600gt and the 1900x1200 screen. It should be really great for 4tabling when im on vactaion during christmas. I'm trying to book hotels internet.

So thats all gl everyone at the tables. Below i just wrote how much i hate apple and about shopping for my laptop. It was more just me venting so its pretty worthless to read!! =) SO GL everyone at the tables and peace!

Anger at apple below skip if you hate angery rants.

So today i went to frys to look at laptops. I woke up today fully ready to buy an apple 15" macbook pro. So i went to frys and played with the macbook pro, and it was fast nice and the new build looked sick. The price was $2,200. But then i realized something when i picked it up to look at when the screen was open the monitor would shake more than any laptop i've seen. so i put the lid facing down at about a 45 degrees and it would just shut. So if you image it can close by gravity what happens if your on a plane and theirs turbulance... it will shut the lid. What if your laying down using it on ur chest and adjust it??? it will fall down. Not only that what happens to a hinge when it gets used more... it gets looser... Anyways so i told my brother and he said i was crazy cuz if you put it at 90 degrees it stays fine. So i showed him the 13inch macbook and it didnt suck ass.....only the 15inch did so we went to the apple store to test more of them... same thing. Anyways so i come home and type in google "15 inch macbook pro weak hinge" Then you scoll down and a bit and it has a website called FIXTHEHINGE.COM. Its completely dedicated to this problem and has a lot of complaints. Also a lot of apple forums have people who have returned 4-5 trying to figure out what was wrong with the hinge. Then steve jobs put out a report claiming its made to be like that so you can move the screen with 1 finger. I guess i'm blogging about it because it makes me so mad. Their new laptops are so ghey the fact they have a defective 2500$ laptop is just amazing and they didn't put out the 17inch which pisses me off even more too because i probbly wouldve gotten that. Also i'm sure a lot of business men get them. In general i have never been more anoyyed at a product, mainly because i own 5k$ in apple stock(thats a lot to me!). So when i see them do bad business practice it makes me want to drive to apple and help them fix it. Either way i bought a dell xps with a 25% coupon. it is a 15.4 inch with all the same specs as the macbook pro and a 1900/1200 resolution screen which is the greatest for poker. So i got a better product for ....1060$......Thats 500$ cheaper than i would've gotten it for and i know the guy who designs the ipod he was going to buy mine with a 33% discount on top of the employ price. Without that it is a 1100$ difference...... If they have this little attention to detail when charging a premium like they do they are doomed to just be another fad.

I tl'dr'd after you said "I went to Fry's"... they are absolutely the WORST and I would never buy anything there that wasn't absolutely sealed and had some sort of padding inside directly from the manufacturer... and even then I might not buy anything from sheer principle.

So i been having trouble putting in a lot of hands last 2 days i think i've played 2 hours total... Anyways update on my bet  = 1847$ / $11,000 and 16 days left. Need to average 571$ a day.

December 04, 2008

so recently all the regs have been playing against me way differently. I think they have stats on me and are starting to make some adjustments, earlier i talked about how none of them would do anything and just fold vs me. Now they are actively coming after me and i feel like its hilarious it took 2 weeks for this to happen. It is really intersting because i have adjusted my whole game and when they attack me i can play a even lower variance style and fight back vs them and maintain my winrate. So in some ways i like this more, just the bad thing is a few days ago i played too agressive before i noticed this change in their play. I 3barrled too light and 5bet jammed air too much. After that one losing session i have adjusted all my ranges and play "differently" and i am actively reviewing my hands vs ppl so i have an idea of who they think i am and how they will try to adjust to me because of who they think i am.

Anyways as for the bet, i won 1000$/11,000$ so far and i have about 16-17 days left i did the math and i have to make on average 588$ a day. I will have a few losing days so i think to be safe i should shoot for having as many 1k$ days as possible. I think it will take probably 20,000 to 35,000 hands to acomplish depending on how well i run. So that is about 1.5k hands a day. I'm off to a good start and i'm going to play another session later tonight!  wish me luck!! cya.
