What's Your Edge

Hey guys.  I have been doing an insane amount of travelling lately and let me tell you, I am unreal tired.  I really need a break from all this CardRunners work, and need a nap!  Luckily, I'm returning home to NYC on Monday night so I'll get a night of sleep in my bed before heading to Philly to see my girlfriend.  Oh, but don't forget...I head to Vegas on Thursday for the NBC HU Championship.  Sheeesh.  Then I get back from Vegas and pretty quickly head to New Orleans for Spring Break...it's just insane d000d.

So where have I been?  Well if you read just about any pro on this site's blog, you'll see that we had a huge Santa Barbara trip.  I had to play the role of caretaker and force people to work.  I appreciate Schneid's saying that I was able to get people to work while also not having people resent me for spoiling their fun...that feels really good, and I'm glad I could make that happen.  We filmed a couple of really hysterical commercials, and I can't wait till those are good to go...I'm pretty sure that everyone will get a kick out of them.

One of my favorite moments of the trip was when I had to do an interview with Cole and he was running a couple minutes late...someone came out of the house and said, "Cole's in a couple of big pots, give him a minute."  Cole came out like 2 minutes later, shrugged, and was like "sorry Ezra, but I just won a $75k pot."  As Taylor noted, Cole is also the best Rock Band drummer I have ever seen though Brystmar might be the best Rock Band guitarist in our crew.  I held it down with the singing getting consistent 90%+ which was tizzight.

We hung out in LA for a couple of days.  I really hate LA, but it was nice to see some family.  The commerce really broke me down last Spring when I dropped about $10k there in 24 hours.  I didn't have enough cash on me to play cash games, so I took it easy and tried to catch up on some sleep at the hotel.  Unfortunately, Taylor kept trying to spoon me which was weird.  That kid has issues.  Seriously.  You'd think his cute girlfriend would be good enough...sheesh (this will probably end up on NVG...yes CR is too busto to buy more than 1 room).

So, back to the title of this blog...after Santa Barbara, and LA, I headed to Chicago for a day to look at some apartments.  Now I'm in Mille Lacs, Minnesota for the first event of the year on the Heartland Poker Tour.  I'm proud to announce that CardRunners is the title sponsor of the Heartland Poker Tour for 2008.  This has been one of my pet projects for a long time, and I'm really glad that it could happen.  the guys who run the tour Fred Bevill, Todd Anderson, and Greg Lang are really great guys, and I'm proud that we can be involved.  Look for CardRunners at all 16 HPT events throughout the year as well as on every televised broadcast of the HPT.  I'm sitting next to Jeff218 at our booth as he laughs to some random Youtube video.  He looks nothing like what any of us would expect, but his personality is similar...he talks a lot and has a ton of energy.  Pretty much what you'd expect from the ol' Jeff218.

Till next time, and from my next snowy HPT stop, signing off,

Ez Mo to the Gee

Poker has been pretty rough over the past couple of months or so.  I wish I had exact stats, but I don't use Pokertracker as much as I should lately.  I've been swinging pretty hard since mid-December, pretty much going on a 15k heater, followed by a 20k downswing, followed by a 15k heater, followed by a 10k downer, etc.  I truly thing my play has been at a minimum B+, but the results just haven't been there.

On sunday I dropped 8 buyins playing shorthanded in something like 400-500 hands which was pretty frusterating.  I took a couple of days off and decided to get back in the $5/$10 games tonight.  It went pretty well and I ended up booking a $4,000 win (I know the PT says $3k but it but must've missed a couple of hands, because I'm playing on rando sites).

Not bad, not bad for a couple hours of work.  I really wish I was better at grinding, because the games are still SO beatable.  Everyone talks about how tough the games are now, but there is just so much dead money out there.  There is absolutely NO REASON why any CardRunners member shouldn't be able to work their way up from $0.25/$0.50 to $5/$10 within 18 months if they study and work hard.

I'd also like to give a big thanks to everyone who posted a comment in my blog or PMed me about my upcoming Europe trip.  I had a whole bunch of PMs/emails over that period, so I didn't get to respond to everyone, but I'll try to take care of that tomorrow morning.  Shira and I still haven't settled on what we'll end up doing, but if I'm heading your way, I'll let YOU know.  It's really cool how warm and welcoming the CR community was when I asked for it.  A huge pat on the back to everyone.

I'm also effectively going on tour for the next month.  I'm heading down to Philly tomorrow night for Valentine's day with my GF.  Then I'll be in Santa Barbara from the 15th through the 18th.  I'll probably be in Chicago the 19th through the 22nd and then I'll be around Minneapolis the 23rd through 25th.  There's going to be a CR meetup at the Casino Grand Mille Lacs on Friday night the 22nd, so if you're in the area, definitely try and hit that up.  Should be a good time.  Then I'm heading back out west to Vegas for the NBC HU Championships on the 28th of Feb through March 2nd or so.

If anyone lives in any of these areas and wants to grab a drink, just post a comment or shoot me a PM.  Hells yea :)

Alright, I'm gonna grab some sleep so I can put in a full day's work tomorrow.  Night night.

Love,

Ezra

Obviously everyone is different, but what # of BI or range of BI would you use to support this statement? 20? 30? 40? This exponential diff is pretty severe.

Just curious & want to hear more of your opinion on the subject.

So my girlfriend and I are trying to plan a spring break trip, but as I'm busto and we're trying to keep costs down, I figured I might as well come on my blog and see if anyone was interested in hosting us!

The actual city is up on the air...I'd love to go somewhere in Italy, but Paris, Spain, Greece, Scandanavia, whatever are all in play.

So what I'm asking is if anyone is interested in having the CR marketing director and his gf at their place for like 4-5 days. Perks would be that if you're a small stakes player, I'll give you lessons and sweat you for a couple hours. If you play above 5/10nl, I doubt I'll be able to help much as I only really play 3/6 through 10/20. Also, since I'll have to work a lot, you'll get to see the inner workings of CardRunners, which might be cool to those obsessed with the CR :) And lastly, my girlfriend is pretty cute!

My requests are:

  • You can speak English fairly well
  • Live in a cool area/can show us around
  • We won't be sleeping on a bare floor. A spare bed or even an air mattress would prob be cool.

Anyways...I sound so incredibly busto making this post. But the truth is that we're just trying to be somewhat money conscious as I spew off enough daily on random things like 2 outers :)

If you can help or have any ideas, pls just post a comment at the end of this post and I'll get in touch with you.

February 01, 2008

I had breakfast this morning with my father at the New York Helmsley Hotel.  He was in town for a series of panels on the upcoming election, assessing the recent McCain emergence, etc.  After some brief discussion, the conversation turned towards my life and poker, as it always does.

I mentioned to my father a number of experiences I've had lately around people who have very intense emotional reactions to problems and issues.  Obviously it's normal to have emotional associations to any event that occurs in one's life.  But I think that the healthiest, most optimistic people are those who are able to take a step back from every difficult situation as it unfolds.  Rather than getting caught up in the event, these certain people are able to analyze and assess the situation rather than allowing themselves to become personally invested.

Certainly, there are situations were emotional reactions are both expected and appropriate.  But even in these extreme cases, I feel that the best way to come to terms with the situation is to approach the event from a non-emotional standpoint.  And in non-extreme cases, those events that happen on a seemingly daily basis that are annoying, or uncomfortable, or worrisome -- well, then, the ability to react unemotionally is even greater skill.

So why do I think emotional reactions are so bad?  For one, it paralyzes the individual in the situation.  Being a fan of both Prison Break and 24, I'm truly of the belief that in any dire situation there's always some "tool" that can be utilized to save the day.  And in the real world, I'm confident this applies too.  For every situation, there are answers.  They may not be pleasant.  They may require a great deal of resolve.  But nearly all situations can be rectified by devoting more time, or more effort.  Or perhaps the answer requires some sort of sacrifice, or a painful encounter.  But nearly always, there will be answers.  And there will be options.  And an optimal path that leads to both a resolution and the minimum amount of personal discomfort.

Secondly, an emotional reaction can actually aggravate the situation.  Let's say, for example, that we were supposed to pay some important bill, say our heating bill by February 1st.  On the night of February 1st, well past the close of the Post Office, we remember that we were remiss in putting the check in the mail.  If our reaction is solely to freak out, bemoan our incompetence, and worry about the consequences we will end up worse off than we would if we stepped back and analyzed the situation.  We would spent the night sleepless or restless and be less productive the next day.  Okay, this isn't the best example, but the point is that a person who is able to react unemotionally and not put themselves in the middle of the situation could find an answer.  This person would search for an 800 number, ask for a manager and explain the situation to someone sympathetic.  Such a person would offer to head to the ATM and wire the money via Western Union or MoneyGram from the local Grocery Store.  Or, this person would calmly ask the phone agent what the consequences would be, how quickly the heat could be turned back on, and, if necessary, take himself or his family to a local hotel.  If the cost of the hotel were high, this person would commit to working overtime or a small job on the side as a lesson to not be lazy regarding future bills.  This is a big difference from the emotional reaction who gets little accomplished and spends valuable hours worrying rather than planning.

I have noticed among my poker friends an exceptional ability to react and analyze unemotionally.  I think this is a skill poker players adopt very early on in their development if they're ever going to be big winners.  There are the rare few whose skill level is so high that it can overcome emotional setbacks.  But I would contend the vast majority of winning high-stakes poker players are some of the most rational, practical, analytical people on the planet.

I guess the big question is how does one develop this skill and at what point does it come about? I think the first factor in its development is the detachment of one’s value of money while PLAYING the game of poker. It is my personal belief that too many poker players take this pre-requisite too far and lose sight of the value of money outside of poker. This is an understandable consequence in my book as repulsive as it might make some poker players appear to the outside world. Winning poker players must lose sight of the value of a dollar. Even players moving up through the smaller stakes would be handicapped if they thought of betting as continuation-betting their meals for a week or check/raising their car insurance. To be good at poker one must be able to distance themselves from the harsh realities of life – and life is inherently emotional. In order to be a good problem solver, one cannot let life overwhelm them: they must assess the problem in an arbitrary vacuum where only facts and clues exist. I feel that this is how the top poker players think, and why avoiding emotional reactions like “tilt” can mark the difference between a winner and a loser.

I think the second factor in the development of a detached emotional state is a natural consequence of continuous losses. Unless, you’ve only played one hand of poker in your life (and run hot!) you’ve lost money at some point. Most likely, you’ve lost a lot of money…a lot of times. The best poker players in the world win less than 60% of their sessions which means that nearly half the days of every month will be losing days. I think that there are a lot of similarities in the human reactions to both losing and rejection as both can be painful, debilitating experiences. I find it interesting that there are so many attractive young people in the world in New York City or in Hollywood dreaming of making it as an actor or a model when the average success rate to land any single job is about 1%. In the entertainment world, you’re doing well if you book one out of every 100 auditions. I think that in that industry there are two ways to be successful: run hot at the beginning, meaning you land a big role or exposure heavy opportunity early in your career. Or, you can effectively grind out your career, meaning that you become accustomed to a 1% success rate, ensure that you have a large volume of auditions, and slowly work your way up the ladder from print work, to theatre, to commercials, to film, etc. You can see the similarities to poker, yes? Makes sense as both activities involve a heavy amount of rejection and losing.

The point is that to be successful in the poker industry you can’t take it personally when you lose. Just like you can’t take a bad beat personally. Is it upsetting? Yes. Is it unfair? No. Do the cards care? No. Do the cards have emotions? No. Anyone who is able to emerge from a continuous barrage of losing will naturally learn to separate their emotions from their reactions. It’s the only way to survive in poker.

It’s 2AM and I’m getting tired, so I’m going to bring this article to a close for now. I’ll try to revise it in the morning, and I hope you’ve all enjoyed my thoughts on poker and the emotional reaction.

yeah it's kinda funny. sometimes if I'm riding in the car with my brother and he gets in a "little bit" of traffic, or lost a "little bit" he'll start freaking out, getting pissed, cusses, and is miserable. Myself, on the other hand, I remain calm, cool, collective, patient, and I just let things happen. Maybe this is why I've had some good success in poker. I basically remain emotionless in all situations where others would be pressurized by.

January 24, 2008

I wrote a whole long blog entry yesterday, but it got deleted so I tilted pretty hard and decided not to try an re-write it.  But I'll try to throw some thoughts together here...Brian left town yesterday and it was nice to see him as always.  I had him and Taylor come into NYC to meet with a new agency I've retained to help us with some growth here at CR.  We also had a really productive meeting with a potential new partner here in NYC.  It felt great to meet with a group of guys who are into the young male lifestyle, enjoy gambling, love Vegas, etc.  It didn't hurt that the head of the meeting was leaving later that night for Vegas...he thought Brian and Taylor were awesome!

Poker has been going pretty poorly.  I'm on about a $7,000 downswing after a fairly nice heater.  I'm still up nicely for January, but I had hoped for more after a breakeven December -- it's definitely frusterating.  Taylor's been watching me play and definitely thinks my game is off...I've been in some incredible games lately and one of the things that's been hapenning is that people go nutso with any part of the board and have been bluffing huge.  I haven't been able to make any hands that are strong enough to trap and when I do make real hands, I'm taking insane suckouts.  Taylor was coaching me yesterday for the following hand....

4 Handed at 5/10 NL.  Big Blind is an atrocious player that we've played a lot of headsup against.  I open AKo in the SB to 35, BB calls.  Flop is K44, rainbow.  I bet $50 hoping he'll make a move and my opponent just calls.  The turn is a Ten brining a heart draw.  I bet $110 and my opponent makes it $250.  Taylor and I debated between just calling and raising here and I leaned towards calling.  My feeling was that he's value betting any King on the river, might have air a large % and will fire river huge.  A 4 makes up a small part of his range.  River was the 7 of hearts making the flush and Taylor advocated a bet/call.  We bet about $350 leaving ourselves $400 back or so.  It was an odd line and I would've preferred a check/call, but I understand its merits.  Our opponent thought for 5 seconds and shoved.  I crying called to see Ah3h for the float/backdoor flush.  It's been a frusterating few days at poker...I am not winning any coinflips when it counts.  I'm sure you've all been through stretches like this.  I'm going to keep concentrating on my game and hope that things will turn around.  $7000 is not a big dent in my bankroll, but it frusterates me as I don't like losing.

While Brian was in town, we made a new type of video for CardRunners.  It's hard to deny that our competitors in the poker training market are doing some creative things with their videos and video series, etc.  So we made a video where I played a $5/$10 Headsup session against a well known, thinking Lag, with Brian and Taylor sweating me and commenting and critiquing my play.  I thought that it will make for a great video...if it turns out well you'll definitely see more unique, creative video ideas.  I'm really stoked to see how it's received.

I also wanted to post some pictures from the "Chefs For a Night" experience that Shira and I had.  If you've got a free night, a beautiful girlfriend, and a fair amount of disposable income, it's an experience I'd recommend to anyone.

January 21, 2008

I gotta admit, it's nice to be back home for an extended period of time. I'm able to get a good amount of work done, settle into a groove, and even start a solid gym routine again (I've gone 3 out of the last 4 days....shiiiip it). I've also been working like a madman, generally putting in hours from 930am until 7 or 8pm doing marketing for CardRunners and then I can often be found putting in additional work session from about 11pm to 1am just to square away some e-mails and accounts for the next day. WHEW. I really don't think most members realize the amount of work that goes into running CardRunners and making it grow....but for more on that, read Zimba's blog. I'm too lazy to try and detail the inner workings of CR.

Anyways, it's 3am (and I must be lonely) and I finally got off tilt and booked a nice session, up about 4 buyins. I "tilted" at different points of the night, but it was fairly justifiable. I played a 90/40 HU who absolutely rocked my world for 2 buyins. Then some monkey overshoved T9 into my JJ and J85 and queen-balled the turn. Yada yada, I got them all back..."REDEMPTION" as my last blog suggested.

My last blog post mentioned my anniversary weekend with my girlfriend. Well....on Tuesday I took her to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway and got us second row seats (ballllinnnnnn). I've always been a fan of Disney films (Alladin is easily in my top 5 of all time) but Shira is a Disney loooover. She owns a lot of their DVDs, etc, so it was a huge kick for her to see Mermaid on Broadway. Then a couple of days later, I set up a private cooking lesson for us in the kitchen of a NYC restaurant. It was totally cool because we got to cook while other chefs were making dinner for other patrons. However, the head chef of the restaurant took out 2 hours from our schedule to teach us how to cook some cool stuff...we made an Eggplant & Goat Cheese Napoleon, Pan-Fried Salmon is a citrus/cilantro salsa, and chocolate crepes with carmelized bananas. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Honestly, the best part of the whole night was making crepes. I flipped my first crepe straight onto the floor, whereas Shira managed to catch her first try. That said, on my second attempt, I got it to land in the pan absolutely perfect with virtually no hang time...it was a professional flip.

I was about to close this blog entry before I realized the tilte....Brian (sbrugby) and Taylor (green plastic) are coming into NYC on Tuesday to stay with me. We have a bunch of meetings here in NYC and I'm excited to show off my place and show them around. Seeing as how I'm normally the one travelling great distances out to Chicago or Vegas, it feels nice to put them in their place :) But NYC calls.....there might even be some exclusive video footage for you members down the road....

DAMN. I'm totally stealing the private cooking lesson idea for a sick date. That's just awesome. Also, we chatted about this a while back, but I recently got a recommendation from some pho lovers: Thaison Restaurant Inc, 89 Baxter St. It's on my list of places to eat now.

January 09, 2008

It's been about two weeks since I've blogged. Part of that is of course my vacation to the Florida Keys and I was amiss in not keeping you guys updated....the other aspect for my lameness is that I was doing pretty poorly at poker. Whenever I'm running bad at poker, I find it harder than normal to blog. Sometimes I need to blog to relieve stress or to announce great results, but when things aren't going my way, I often prefer just to stay quiet and keep to myself.

For the last two weeks poker has been really frusterating. I play almost exclusive 5/10 No Limit shorthanded games and a lot of headsup. I had the horrible night early in Dec where I dropped 7.5 buyins, and had found some difficulty in recovering. Several times I strung together a few + sessions, but never anything huge. Then right before New Years, I got demolished by a new player to one of the sites I played in. He sat with me at 5/10 Heads Up with $500, quickly got it in with 44 vs my TT and sucked out. Before I knew it, he broke down the winnings into two tables and took me for about $5,000. It was a really frusterating night and I had to take some more time off.

Over the past few days I have felt that I was playing insanely well, but was only breaking even. The beats, however were horrific. In a marathon HU session, I called a flop shove 150bb deep on 932 with J9 and got shown 88. The turn was, of course, an 8. Vs that same player 20 minutes later I got it in nearly 200bb deep with 78 on J78 vs AA. He obviously turned a Jack. Somewhat tilted, I called a flop lead on Ac8c7c with Ah6c. I turned an offsuit 6 and got it in vs 9c2c. I don't like my turn raise vs this specific player, but that's for another day. The point is I just couldn't win a pot.

But in the last 2 days, I've really managed to turn things around and am up over 10 buyins, almost all of it from big HU sessions. It feels so good to be way in the black for January, and I just feel redeemed. I think I played really well and got a lot of my opponents to tilt pretty hard to me. One hand that I felt I played exceptionally was as follows:

I'm up a buyin or two on my opponent and I know he's not playing his best. He raises button 100bb deep HU and I call with 9T. The flop is a gorgeous QJ8 (I can't remember if it was rainbow). I like to check/raise my good hands usually because my opponents call too much and I can get more money in the pot. But I'd been mixing up my play pretty well with a lot of leads, and I felt it would really throw him off, so I lead $60 into the $80 pot. He very quickly called. The turn was a Queen. This was a really interesting card (and I thought a great one). I really didn't foresee my opponent just calling with a set, though QJ or Q8 were certainly possible. More likely was something like AJ, JT, QT, etc. The Queen would increase the value of all those hands in his eyes. I decided to check because I didn't want to give away the strength of my hand. If I lead here, he would know I've either got a monster or air, and I wanted to get tricky. So I checked, he basically potted for $160 and I decided to smooth call. Again, this was a very tricky play as most players will c/r here nearly all the time. It wasn't that I thought I was behind, but I didn't want to give away the strength of my hand and have him pith AJ or KJ because I know he can valuebet very light. The river totally blanked and AGAIN I checked my nut straight. He full potted for $520 leaving himself about $300 back. I decided that because he was tilty and I thought it very unlikely he had a full house, that I would be leaving $300 on the table if I didn't shove. I put him in and he insta-called KQ. I felt really great about this hand and he quit me very soon after. I'd love to talk more deeply about this hand and some others I played against him, but I suspect he reads this blog, and I don't want to give away too much info.

ANYWAYS...Florida was a total and complete blast. I'm gonna show you some pictures from our vacation and just some of me and my girlfriend.

Here's a nice picture of us in front of the sunset in Key West:

Here is me playing a little online poker in front of the water:

This is me, my girlfriend and her brother at Shore Club, one of the hottest clubs in Miami:

And finally...while we were in Key West, we stopped to watch one of those street performers who are usually pretty funny/good. Our performer was decently funny but his act was really racist and offensive and I felt like most of his jokes were more awkward than enjoyable. His name is The Great Rondini and you can check out his website at www.thegreatrondini.com (don't know why I'm pimping out his site). Anyways, Shira and I were just like kind of hiding in the corner watching his act when he pulls her out, makes her come on stage and be the star of the show. I could explain a lot more of what went down, but I'm not sure anyway really wants to relive that half hour. Suffice it to say, there was some violation, and as a loving boyfriend, I was extremely unhappy. Here are some pics tho of Shira in the middle of the crowd with the Great Rondini:

Anyways, this has been a pretty long blog post. I'm about to head out with Shira for a nice dinner and then I'm taking her to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway (as it's one of her favorite movies ever).

Till next time...

Love,

Ezra

You are such a tease. You don't say he was racist, offensive, and violated your girlfriend and then don't give us more of the story.

Verizon Broadband Card - check
Car with an outlet in the back - check
Awesome laptop - check
Blogging from I-95 - Priceless.

Okay you got it, I'm in a car, we're moving FAST and I'm still able to blog. How cool.

Last night, I did the brunt of the drive taking us from the middle of North Carolina all the way down past Jacksonville, about 7 hours of driving. Sometimes I really like driving...I hit about 2 hours of a massive thunderstorm which was not fun, but the rest of the time was relaxing and everyone in the car was chatting and joking around. My girlfriend and co were stupified by the fact that I think it's conceivable that an unidentified intelligent object from another planet has landed on this one. I don't think it's possible for any organic living being to travel as far as would be necessary, but I do think it's possible that some sort of controlled craft has made it here. Just watch this video if you have any questions about what I'm talking about...there are a number of really interesting situations that I simply believe enforce my idea that it's CONCEIVABLE. I don't think I'm being too radical here, I'm not saying little green martians are running around undercover Men in Black style. Just that an exploratory/reconaissance vessel may have touched down on the Planet Earth.

Anyways, we're leaving Daytona Beach right now and will be in Miami in 3 or 3.5 hours. I'm def excited to hit the beach and have a good time. After spending the day in Miami we're going to head down to my girlfriend's house in the Isle of Mirada in the Keys...it's apparently the game fishing capital of the country, so I'm stoked to do some fishing as well because I haven't gone fishing in a looooooong time.

Lastly, the best part of this broadband card is that I can play poker from a stable connection in the car!! I played for 25 minutes in the car and made a little over $500. shipppppp. Okay more posts and pics from Miami.

Lates y'all

December 20, 2007

Well it's good to be back in the swing of things. My long trip to Chicago and Vegas is over! I was busy virtually the entire time and was just incredibly exhausted by the end of it. As Taylor said to me the other day, "I'm spent." Lol. It's such an old man saying.

The whole CR team really had a great time in Vegas. A big thanks to CR member Justin Freels (jfreels) for coming out to Vegas with us and having a good time. We tried to show him a ballin' time, but hope we succeeded in the night we took him out. Highlights of the trip were Townsend getting hammered at Tryst (see Andrew's blog), Andrew being asked if he needed a somalier (sp?) to help with the wine list and responding "I'm sorry, I have no idea what the hell that is," and much much more. We want to a restaurant where fish cost $14/oz on Friday night. Apparently they fly the fish in every morning from the Meditteranean so it is actually caught fresh daily. Seems silly and wasn't that great.

Anyways, I leave tomorrow morning for Florida with my girlfriend Shira, her brother David and his girlfriend Danielle. I'm pretty stoked, but I'm worried about a few things. For starters, the executive decision was made that we should drive down to the Keys instead of flying. I don't mean driving from like Miami. I mean driving from New York City. Maybe I've gotten spoiled by age 23, but I don't do well in confined spaces for long periods of time....errrrrrr. Apparently the car is nice and has a series of outlets which should be tight. Based on the recommendation of my friend Nat Arem, I picked up the new Verizon Broadband Rev-A PC Card which should hopefully allow me to do work and play poker throughout the trip. Apparently the coverage and speeds are much better, so here's hoping to that...Anyways, yea...48 hour drive. Argh. I mean I'm sure it'll be great, but, I'm nervous.

Once we arrive, however, things should be much better. Shira's family has a house right on the water on the Isle of Marada (sp?) in the Keys. I'll be sure to take pictures so that I can show off. Anyways, that's it for now. Things remain busy at CardRunners and we definitely appreciate everyone who's a member and supports us. We really are working out butts off to make this site more incredible by the day. I think it's starting to show and with new competition popping up daily, people simply have more options. But I'm convinced that CR remains the best value for one's money, and I think the next few months will be extremely exciting for us.

Maybe I'll give status updates from the car ride :) That might be a wee bit lame.

Love, Ezra
