My membership renewal is up on the 20th of November, but I don't think I will be renewing my membership this time.  I just haven't been watching many of the videos lately (out of laziness) and I'm pretty sure this trend will continue for me if I renewed.

I have learned so much from Cardrunners and I've met a lot of great people from the community (not in person though)!  Joining CR has definitely been the best decision I've made since starting to play cash games.

I guess I'll be continuing to grind away the 100nl and 200nl tables as always, and if I get to 400nl, then yay me :)  Other than that, I'm not exactly striving to hit 25/50, but if I can, I'll continue to grind away and continue to move up in a gradual, yet comfortable pace.

I hope my blogs have been somewhat entertaining.   I really did enjoying writing my blogs and writing without a purpose is so mentally freeing.   This is especially the case when you don't have a close circle of poker friends to discuss poker with and just need to let your thoughts and frustrations out.

Anyways,  I wish everyone the best of luck and let's hope online poker never goes busto.

For the last time, thanks for reading.

Nothing's been really interesting as of late.  I'm still tinkering with my game as always.  I've played about 20k hands this month and I'm only up a few hundred bucks.  I feel I'm really coming around to figuring out my own tendancies and I'm going to fix all the bad ones.  Once these are fixed, I'm hoping for a big *click* and the results will follow.

I haven't felt like blogging at all lately.  I used to blog every single day and I looked forward to posting results after every session.  Maybe I'd be blogging more often if i was crushing my limits.

Anyways, hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks for reading.

I guess CR isn't going to change their blog format anytime soon, so I guess I'm just going to have to deal with it.

September was a very unproductive month pokerwise.  I did manage to get 20k hands in, but only because I had a 2 week vacation from work.  I only ended up $200 for the month.  I learned a TON of things about my game and I'm hoping my adjustments will work out in October.   In the first session of the month, I made $700.  It could be that I was due to run hot, but I'm hoping that the adjustments I made played a bigger part.

I also got married on September 20th.  The wedding was absolutely amazing and I'd do it again any day.   It was definitely the happiest day of my life to date.  Everything went well, and we couldn't ask for better weather :)

Now that the wedding is over with, I can finally focus on poker.  I need to start watching more videos again, and get my grind on.  Hopefully October goes well.

Thanks for reading.

I doubt I'll be playing anymore this month, so I'm up a total of $1600.   I didn't play very much, so I"m happy to be up anything.

I managed to win $500 last night.  It was a decent session and most of it came at 100nl HU on Cake.  I played an interesting player last night.  I overplayed my TPTK and got stacked.  He called with a marginal hand , blind vs blind, and flopped 2 pair.  He was a shortstacking donkey and then challenged me to play 2/4 HU after I called him a fish.  I should've taken up the offer, but I've never played 2/4 before, so why start now when I'm underrolled for it.

Anyways, hopefully September is a decent one.

I managed to squeeze out a $250 win last night.   After playing cash games for so long now, you think that I'd be having more 1k days , but theyr'e just not happening.   It's time to make things really happen for me.

The first step I did was have a sweat session with my friend , Somnius.   He's a fantastic midstakes player and is simply crushing the competition.  I picked up a lot of tips from him, so hopefully I can really implement them into my game.   He is starting to coach now, so if you're looking to improve your game, be sure to PM him.  He'll definitely be worth your time.

The next step for me is to build a roll on both Party and Cake.   I feel it's so important to have a roll on more than one site.   It helps clear any bad karma you're feeling from a site when you're running badly.  And that helps you a great deal mentally.   I'm rolled to play 100nl on each right now, so hopefully , hopefully....I'll be rolled for 1/2 by Oct.

I say October because I'm getting married in about 3 weeks from now, so I wont' have as much time to play as I want to.   Hope it all works out for me.

Good luck with getting married!

Okay, so I've determined LAG is not the best way to play. However, you play too straightforward IMO, so therefore, you need to mix up your game IMO to have bigger winning days (unless you totally get smashed with the deck). A lot of money is made in deception and your opponent being unsure what you have, imo. If you're playing standard TAG style, your range is much more narrow than if you were a little more aggro. I would try mixing up your game, putting in more squeezes, try a few 4bet bluffs preflop, etc. I believe the key is to make your range and villain's perception of your range as far apart as possible to win the most. Interesting tip, Iverson! I'll definitely try mixing up it more often.

And thanks for your well wishes.

I lost about $300 in my last session.  I think I played fairly well, but just couldn't rid myself of any coolers.   However, I played pretty well today and just grinded a bunch of 50nl and 100nl tables for a couple hours and made $330.   The biggest and most standard hand I lost today was against a complete donk who called down with a flush draw and hit against my aces.  Meh.

There's one week left to go this month, so I hope I can make it a good one.

I can't believe I'm getting married in less than 4 weeks.  There's just so many things left to do.  I'm getting a little nervous and excited at the same time because it's simply going to be the biggest party I'm ever going to throw.  I'm looking forward to seeing some of my relatives that I miss and it'll be even better to have all my great friends in the same place for a change.

Anyways, bed time.

Thanks for reading.

Cake's impending doomswitch has taken full swing and I can't seem avoid villain's turning 2 pair or a set. There's not a whole lot I can do except grind through it. Luckily it's Friday today, so I get to have the day off. I lost $400 last night on games ranging from 50nl to 200nl. August was looking up, and I felt I was going to recover most of my losses from July. But it's not working out, so it's time to make some adjustments on my game again.

I was about to write a blog post about how I was up another 700 over the past 3 days, until I lost it all in today's sessions.  Nothing really went right from the get go and I just couldn't shake anything off.   I was up $200 on Party after the first session, but on the second, I lost that and $500 more.   I took a break, then loaded up some tables on Cake, and right off the bat, lost $400.   Cooler after cooler.   I guess I was kind of expecting it since I've run hotter than the Sun there, but I didn't expect it to hit that fast and hard.   I shut down all the tables, took a breather and loaded up some more.  I grinded some of it back, but ended down $170 there.

After today's horrible showing, I'm only up $650 for the month over about 14k hands.  It's just baffling as to why I can't win on Party.  The players are horrible.   Maybe it's just time for me to get some more coaching.   There's no way I can't beat those games.

I just can't emphasize how difficult it is having a full time job and trying to make a decent living off of poker.  Every chance you get, you want to play.  You don't want to study because frankly, it's boring and you'd rather be trying to make some 'instant' money.   And when you only manage to put 20k hands in a month, your downswings or breakeven stretches can last for months rather than just one.  And when you have extended down periods, it gets very draining emotionally.  And when that happens, your results are further affected at the tables.   I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't make the same mistake as me and just play every chance you get.   Take the time to study, take the time to think through situations, and you'll go through fewer hard times as you progress.   It's taken me almost a year of playing cash games to really understand this.

Thanks for reading.

Since my last post, I've dropped 5Bis at 100nl over 3k hands. Some hands were played very poorly and some were just bad coolers, but most were leaned towards playing poorly or on tilt. My bankroll is only at 2k right now, so I need to double it before getting back onto the 200nl games. I'm going to evaluate my game along with the help of others to see if I'm good enough to just deposit another 2k into my account and start back at the 200nl games.

On Wednesday, I was going to withdraw the rest of my roll from Cake ($400, lol) , but I realized that I was $100 short of being able to withdraw. I decided to try and grind it up to $500 and then cash it all out. It went pretty well at 50nl and I've managed to grind my $400 BR to $1300 over 2k hands. I'm happy with how it went, so I'm considering on building a roll on Cake again and go from there.

All in all, I've only played about 8k hands this month, and I'm up just under 1k (almost all from cake the past few days). It's a terrible showing for the number of hands that I've played, but I'm just so busy lately. Work is very very busy and my wedding is only a month away. So I'm always running around doing things other than playing poker.

I'll try to update more frequently. I just haven't had anything interesting happen as of late. I really want to keep my blog positive because that's the attitude we, as people, should have everyday. So if I don't update, it probably means poker is going badly and I'm not going to blog about negatives anymore.

Go Canada!

Thanks for reading.

It's been a while since I've last blogged.   I took a few days off from poker because of my bad run in July.  It was pretty refreshing to say the least.   I haven't had much of a chance to play at all this month.   Work has been insanely busy and everytime I get home, the last thing I want to do is spend more time in front of the computer.    It's amazing how having a full time job can really hinder your growth as a poker player.  But, I can't complain because I have a pretty good job, and I'm lucky enough to even be able to play this game.

I've been trying to grind up 1k from 100nl lately and it's been going alright.   I'm about half way there and when I reach that point, I'm going to top my account up to 4k and hop back onto the 200nl games.   I'm just trying to rebuild some confidence to make sure I can still play the game.   Hopefully I can get into a rhythm and just start crushing 200nl immediately.

Here are my results so far this month:

I played a 700 hand session today, and I lost 2 BIs within the first 30 hands or so.  I managed to slowly grind my way up and I'm only down $23 on the day.   I played pretty well, so I'm not going to sweat it.  The results will follow if I keep playing like this.

I should really start updating more, especially since I haven't blogged in a while and my content is lacking.  I guess having a rough month will do that to me.

Anyways, thanks for reading.
