I spent most of Saturday tearing through my apartment looking for my passport; I literally went through every inch of this place at least three times yesterday only to come up empty-handed. So my flight to the Bahamas for PCA left at 6am on Sunday morning without me, and needless to say I'm pretty pissed about it.

I've come to the conclusion that it was either stolen (unlikely) or it was inside one of the boxes my roommate's psycho ex-girlfriend let us store in her basement last spring. She conveniently decided to throw them all away when they broke up over the summer (while I was in Vegas), so anything I left over there is gone forever. And I'm pretty sure that's where my passport met its demise; there's simply nowhere else it could be.

Luckily, I live in a city home to one of the US passport agencies, so the plan is to try and have one rushed through processing in time to make it to the Bahamas for the second half of the week. I'm rushing to the agency with my birth certificate tomorrow in hopes that I can get a new passport issued within a day or two, which should put me in the Bahamas by Thursday. If there's any time I need to run good in life, it's right now. I really hope this all works out so I can join my poker buddies in the Caribbean this week.

I had a friend who went to the office in Chi and got his passport the same day so you might be in luck.
