trying to play a lot

the results haven't been there this weekend but i really can't complain about my play. i think i am up about $4,000 or so since my last update over about 2500-3000 hands. I played about 1000 hands a day this weekend so that is pretty good for me. I've been studying my pt database a lot and also trying to datamine whenever possible. I think getting back into these games has rekindled some of the drive that i used to have when poker was new. there are a million new faces in the 10/20+ games and it's fun to try to learn people's games and then try to exploit them. it's even more difficult because i suspect a lot of them have either studied mine or at least watched some videos.

i was about even for the day after grinding out a lot of 25/50 when i saw a pretty good 100/200 game (for 100/200, that is, still a very hard game) and decided to play for awhile.

i was middling around even, not making any hands, when the following hand came up against stinger. i made a pretty good call here and got my money in 65/35 with one card to come. pokerhand isn't working so you'll have to bear with these hh's.

i lost about 5k of my stack just having to fold to some serious aggression at the tables. i made a few big laydowns that i think were right, nothing huge but some top pair stuff here and there.

the following hand then came up which got me back down to even on the session. i was 84% to win with one card to go so it was pretty frustrating, but that's poker. can't as for much more than this.

so even though over the past 3k hands or so i am basically even (slightly ahead) i really feel like i am playing great and have put myself in a lot of great situations. it's not to say that i haven't sucked out on anyone obviously, i just feel like my game matches up well with these guys and if i can keep putting the hands in i can win 5-6 bb+/100 at some of these games.

update: bad session

just lost 21k playing 25-50 and some 50-100 hu. I think my play was pretty bad in the 25-50 game, i made some inexcusable bluffs (and some good ones that just ran into good hands) but i should have managed my image better.

i also got a big cooler AI pf with KK vs AA against a very aggressive player with whom i have been tangling a lot lately. it was a 275bb pot so it was a decently sized one.

then there was 50-100 HU. i feel i lpayed pretty well in this match and lost 9k while making basically no hands. I will paste a cooler hand that cost me over a buyin and then a good bluff. Nothing I can do about the first hand.
