CARDRUNNERS
What's Your Edge
On a side note, the oldest player in the WSOP from last year is back again and seated at Taylor's table. He is 91 now and has garnered a lot of TV coverage for the table.
just lost 21k playing 25-50 and some 50-100 hu. I think my play was pretty bad in the 25-50 game, i made some inexcusable bluffs (and some good ones that just ran into good hands) but i should have managed my image better.
i also got a big cooler AI pf with KK vs AA against a very aggressive player with whom i have been tangling a lot lately. it was a 275bb pot so it was a decently sized one.
then there was 50-100 HU. i feel i lpayed pretty well in this match and lost 9k while making basically no hands. I will paste a cooler hand that cost me over a buyin and then a good bluff. Nothing I can do about the first hand.

I can honestly say I do. Alot of people hate them and think they ruin the game - but I look at it diffrently. Check out the hands below vs shorstacks - if the same hand came up vs a player with a full buyin - I would lose a a whole buyin instead of $80. And when I look back I have saved A-L-O-T of $$$ buy only losing the min to these guys...
Also - for you haters check out the hands below - I am sure you guys will feel good :o) even though Ive been through hands like that many times - but enjoy anyways!

Hey whats up man. Didn't realize you played UB as well. I've been grinding 200nl for a few months now there. Been taking a few shots at 400NL on weekends when the games are pretty juicy (kinda sucks that only 8-10 tables run on weekdays). I'm not sure if you play any 200nl, but how would you compare the two on UB? I'm looking to make the jump to solely 400nl here shortly, and will definitely avoid nuffgreed now ;-)

Oh, and you gotta hate days like this. Always seems like they like to throw all the bad beats at you at once instead of spreading them out....oh well, i guess 50 BI's is alright haha...
Feb 26, 08 16:47:15
Hey Kirk - I havent played alot of hands at 200NL but I know 400NL is alot more aggresive. Make sure you have the proper bank roll (depending on how many tables you play) There are regs at 400 that constantly try to make plays, so if your running normal or hot - you can make a KILLING - lol.
But as you can see, I am running as cold as you can get with the runner runners - so I have simply switched to another site and starting to play Omaha...
Goodluck
So I haven't been playing much live cash game poker lately. In the Bahamas, I made a brief apperance in the 25/50 game but I was so tired from having played in the donkament I couldn't stay very long. I had the chance to rail Boosted J, which was cool because I got to see what it's like being in the fray in a 50/100 game with very very deep stacks (I have never played with more than 30kish on the table at any one time, and sitting with 50-60k is very scary).
In any case, I played in the 25/50 "home" game in the hotel suite I mentioned in my December 9th, 2006 entry. The same cast of characters of successful businessmen, with a few different faces. And me. I got to the game late, because I went to dinner with Caitiln, my friend Mike (a friend from my summer associate class at my law firm last summer) and his wife. We had a great dinner at a restaurant called Mai House, owned by the same guy who owns Tribeca Grill and Nobu. That guy literally owns 3 very nice restaurants all on the same block! His offices are also on that block, and I often see him outside in the summertime on a table set up outside his first floor office, conducting business. Pretty cool.
Anyways, I come to the game, and I start off raising the very first hand, AQ. I bet the J87 flop, get called, chk the turn and river, and get shown 44, which is good. Welcome to the game. I realize in this game bluffs have to be very selective, and betting hands for value is of maximum importance, because you WILL get called down. I saw a few amazing hands. The most amazing of these was the following. Guy makes it 250 from ep. Cold call. Other guy min raises to 500. Gets back to the original raiser, and he makes it 5500 to go (leaving himself about 8k behind). Fold, the initial min raiser COLD CALLS he 5500!! Amazing. The flop comes down 976. The initial raiser checks. The cold caller thinks and shoves all in. The initial person who made it 5500 folds KK face up. The cold caller shows QQ. Insane.
Anyways, I was even or down slightly for most of the night, and then I went on a huge rush. Here are the hands.
Hand 1: I raise 65ss in LP, and get a call from the button. This player knows that I'm a strong player. Flop comes J58 two clubs. I bet the flop for 450. He just calls. Turn is a blank, non-club. I bet the turn for 1300. He calls again. River is an offsuit A. I bet 3500 on the river, trying to get him to lay down a Jack. He thinks for a while, and mucks. I'm not sure how in love with this bet I am, but I figure calling with a hand like J10 is very hard.
Hand 2: I call out for the nuts, and flop it. After a bunch of limpers, I raise with AJo. I get called by every single person at the table. One of the guys comments, "whatever you had, it's no good anymore." I call out to the dealer to please flop me the nuts. The flop comes out a beautiful AJ6. I bet out 1400 (which was a relatively large flop bet). But I figure I get called by any ace, and I want to build a pot. Everyone folds!! I show my hand and say, wow, I actually flopped the nuts.
Hand 3: Flopping a flush. I raise the J9dd from the cutoff and get called by the button. The button is one of the stronger players of the game and is capable of some big calls, and he makes the call. The flop comes 8xx three diamonds. GIN. I bet out 450. He calls. Turn comes 9. I bet 1300. He calls again. At this point I put him on AdX. Turn is a beautiful A, non diamond. I tank it, and throw out one 5k chip. He looks at me, asks what I want, and I say nothing, staring at the board. I try to give off a few false weak tells, and finally he calls with Ad9, for top two. That hand got the rush going.
Hand 4: Interesting line. One of the stronger players in the game limps on the button. The SB calls, I raise it up to 400 from the BB with AKhh, about the best hand I've gotten all night. They both call. The flop comes A1010. SB chks, I bet 800, the button calls. Now, on this hand, he's not floating me. He either has a 10 or an ace. Turn is a 6. I decide to chk. He bets 1300. I call. The river is a 3. I decide I do not want to call a huge river bet, so I decide to value-block. I bet 2800. He tanks, and calls. He says after the hand that if he was really on his game he would have raised my river bet. I liked the way I played this, because I get value from worse Aces and also it's very hard for him to raise me on the river even with a 10.
Hand 5. The setup. Limped around, but chk Q10dd from the BB. The flop comes A102. It checks around. The turn is a 3, putting two diamonds on the board. A guy bets out 500 and I make it 2k. He calls. River is a blank, I chk he chks and he wins with A4. This hand was important for the next one, knowing that I'm capable of bluffing, which I sort of was with Q10, but I also wanted a cheap showdown and wanted to charge a diamond draw.
Hand 6. The big shebang Button limps, SB raises, I just call with 99 button calls. The flop comes A98. Gin for me. SB checks, I lead out for 1100, button folds, SB, thinks for a while, says: "wow you really have 99," (which scared the living hell out of me), and chk min raises to 2200. Now, I had seen him do this play earlier, and he had the stone nuts, so I was worried about AA (slightly) but hoped he had a hand like two pair, 88, or AK, obviously. I just call. Turn is a 2. He bets out 3000. I decide to just call again. The river is 2. He bets out 3k. I eyeball his stack (he didn't stack his chips neatly), and see approximately how much he has. He has around 10 behind after his bet. Instead of shoving all in, I decide to make it 13000 on the river. He calls, and 99 is good.
All in all, an amazing night. The company in this game is great, along with the atmosphere, and winning 29k in any night you play poker is always nice.
I will get into the blog portion more later but here are some sick hands from the last session. I still ended up but these defiently would have helped

I ran very well playing poker this weekend. After having a few small losing days midweek I won about 145k between Saturday and Sunday. The 50/100 NL games were running on FTP (even 4 at a time for a while!) and I fared well in them, as well as in some 25/50 games and some PLO on both Stars and FTP. Here are some of the more interesting hands:
Here I didn't have much of a read on this player's NL game but his line just felt like a bluff a lot, so I went with my gut. I later found out that he actually was pretty spewy.

From the same HU match, I flatcall a 3bet with AAxx single-suited semi-deep, flop the 2nd nuts, and am fortunate enough that he flops the 3rd nuts. I think my line can def be a bluff though and get him to rebluff with air a fair amount.

Also today I was watching some Frank Caliendo clips on Youtube with friends today. He is hilarious and some of his impersonations are priceless, especially George W. Bush, John Madden, and Jim Rome. Here is my favorite clip:
His show "Frank TV" premieres Tuesday on TBS. I can't wait.
I'm heading home to PA for Thanksgiving break tomorrow. It'll be nice seeing friends and family but unfortunately I have to get some schoolwork done too. I have 3 papers due next week, then finals soon after, meh. Hopefully I can get out to the movies to see Michael Clayton and/or No Country for Old Men, both of which have gotten excellent reviews.
That's all for now. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!
I will be transferring some of my blog entries from my original blog site to this one. http://bazukospoker.blogspot.com/

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1618413 same guy as abov...http://www.pokerhand.org/?1618418 And Im glad I wo...
Thats it for now, I hope i can keep playing good solid poker, Ive been working on opening a lot more on pos and Re raising a lot more to take control of the pot, along with calling a lot of c bets on pos and betting on the turn when they show weakness.
Good Luck,
Hugo.
Today everything worked out great. I played cash games for about 45 mins and picked up 4 buy ins at 100NL WOOOT!
Then, I had a decision. I had 13,300 fpp, now I could get to 13.5k and get a ticket for the sunday $215, which I can sell for /$208.55 guranteed or I could play a couple of the 5400FPPs 10 man sitngos, where top 4 get a seat and hopefully I can win one and have some extra fpps for whatever.
Well, I played the first one and got a seat, I was shortstacked and pushed 900 at the 150/300/50a from the co and both blinds go all in. I was up against 66 and 99. The flop was a lovely 334, weeeeeeee!
I decided to play one more and AGAIN I took it down, this time w no major suckouts, just some nice solid poker.
So, now I was up about $820 and dediced to play some cash, where I could not win against a specific oponent playing 68/22 , but finally busted him on this hand: Although he had already donked off most of his stack, its still a good feeling to bust him.
