I haven't been playing any poker since my last post but I have been very busy as of late. I am setting up a new CR office in Santa Barbara. I am buying a new computer and getting the internet installed. I have the computer being sent to my house and the internet is geting put in the office. So I am running back and forth between the two so I don't miss my computer or the installation of the internet. Its really annoying when you have to sign for a package and there delivery time is between 8AM and 8PM or when you get a two hour window for the internet which they keep changing. I don't know how people with real jobs manage. I am also in the process of hiring a new assistant. I did one interview today which went well and I have two more this afternoon. Hopefully I find someone soon because my errands are piling up. All in all I have a pretty rough life :).

maybe you should put a pullout couch in your office so you and taylor can bunk up together when he gets into town.

Just have the item left at UPS or wherever and go pick it up. Way easier if you keep missing it.
I'm at my parents house which is always relaxing. I can say Christmas is going great so far, and I honestly enjoy spending time with family and friends more so than the gifts. I got to keep this short because this computer I'm on is insanely slow. I got a few neat things and I got a external hard drive for my laptop which is much needed. I also will be in the market for a decent desktop PC tomorrow. I've been needing one and putting it off for an insanely long time now. I use my laptop for everything, and it's starting to slow up a little bit and I've desided I need a desktop for work related stuff and for a few other things. Im also looking to use two monitors instead of one + laptop screen. I have a relatively small computer desk, so it makes it very difficult to use a monitor plus have he laptop on top of the desk as well. Hopefully Ill find something tomorrow when I go out shopping a little. Hope everyone celebrating Christmas is enjoying it!

You may claim this mcguiles was a huge donk...he may have been...but your shove of AQ preflop is about the ugliest play i could ever see...you need to really rethink the way you play against a donk, because a desperation push for NO reason certainly isn't the way to do it..

Jeter - I agree it's terrible vs random player. However, vs this villain and the flop of the match, he was willing to get the money in with any two. I am never folding AQs preflop vs him and I want to get the money in the best way that I can. From the past, I know if he 3 bets, he never folds. I elected to just overbet shove here and I get called by KQ, any pocket pair, JT, JQ type hands and any broadway for the most part. Over my experience playing HU, players call extremely light when they run \$40 up to \$300 + . It's like free money to them and they'll take any gamble necessary to try to win another buyin.
I've been through hell and back with my computer this past week. I upgraded to Vista and had a ton of problems. Next, I downgraded back to XP, which went worse. Basically, the computer cleaned out everything except the Windows application. I lost all my drivers, icons, programs, etc. Thankfully, CR has Rodeo who took the time to help me for a few hours over the last few days while I work on getting everything back into place. I've had to manually download drivers onto a USB from another computer just to install on my computer to have a internet connection. I've up and running again, but I have no audio, no audio options, etc. The computer is really bare right now and I'm basically only using it for CR work at the moment. It's really halting a lot of CR work I wanted to get accomplished. It's a pain right now because I get random ass errors all the time now and it'll shut down, etc. Hopefully Rodeo will be able to continue to help me get everything I needed installed so that I get get my system up and running again. It's really tough on his end since he doens't see my errors, etc and has to go from my feedback of telling him whats happening. Overall, I think it's time for a new computer.
I'm really debating getting a new computer, although I probably should get one. I hate dishing out money on computers for some od reason. I know mine know works really well when everything is properly installed in it. It's givin me pains before, but I've grown with it. The big dilema is if I want to get another laptop of go with a desktop. Desktops seem so outdated now days and are slowly making their way out of the market. One advantage that I like of the laptop is it's portable. A desktop would offer me more options though such as multiple bigger monitors rather than my 1 external monitor now. A desktop also allows more storage area. I've though about building my own desktop from buying parts, etc as Rodeo has suggested. The main downfall to this is that I'm not great with installing stuff on them, and I'm sure I'd miss a ton of drivers or something stupid and be in the same situation I'm in now. Right now I'm leaning on a desktop and I'll use my current laptop for travel, etc. I think I can get enough stuff installed on my laptop to the point where it'll be fully functional again.
Anyways, I promised Rodeo I'd show appreciation for his hard work. He's been putting in a ton of hours outside of CR and I'm finally thankful for his abilities, as if I wasn't before. Everyone should probably worship Rodeo. You never know when you'll need his help.

when I need rodeos help I un block im on AIM- thats enough reward in itself for anything he helps me with
If time is money, then my computer is costing me thousands. I hate how every computer starts out running really fast, but as you add applications, it bogs down and eventually just crawls along until you feel like throwing something out the window. I have never been pissed at a bad beat the way I get pissed at my computer for running so slow. The funny thing is, I ask alot for the computer. But can't someone build me a system where I have Mozilla, Windows Media Player, Itunes, Poker Tracker, Poker Ace hud, AutoHotKeys, 12 tables of Pokerstars, and trillian, all running in harmony with no lag. Is that so much to ask? It takes my computer 3 minutes to shut down. From the log in screen until the time where I can load a poker table it takes over 4 minutes. I am writing this blog post on my laptop while my computer is being restarted... Moving along.
I had an alright day yesterday. I played great and won money, but lost 3 big allins as 80/20, which offset my winrate. Still ended at 3 ptbb/100 over 4k hands, I played 2 2k hand sessions, and am now pretty close to completing the 300k VPP bonus on Stars. This bonus is essentially a free $2500 ($3000 - the cost of 50k FPPs which is about $500). Its awesome stars is so good to their main players. While I have been working on this and not playing on cake, I am thinking of taking a decent portion of my cake roll and moving it back over. It would just be a safer play. Cake is great, but without 16 tabling and PAHUD, its just hard to say its better.
Well, my computer is ready to go. I will post in a few hours some hands from yesterday that I recorded.

Just get a duo core and like 4 gigs of ram. When I datamine 16 tables while burning CDs and using instant messanger plus other junk I run fine, even on vista max settings and I only have 3 gigs of ram and not a core duor CPU. You have the roll to get something nice I'd cash in on the post xmas sales for sure all its going to do in the long run is earn you more per hour. Oh and by the way have a friend just buy the parts and build it, its -much- cheaper and is really just a big lego set.

That's what I'm working on now. I have an old Pentium4 (1.6 GHz, 400bus, 256K cache). With the poker client, PT, AceHud, Handgrabber running I get computer lag.
The goal is: Core 2 Duo E4700 (2.6Ghz, 800bus, 2MB cache) and a better board with built-in graphics stuff. That way poker and porn will never conflict. Throw in a new case and extra videocard (3 screens) and \$300 gets you a machine that does the job*. If you're on a budget, you don't need to compete with Deep Blue. Quad core, bling covered cases, 8GB of ram and hydrolics are cool computers too that can help you link to Nasa satalites but my goal is poker and i'm cheap.
*This price is based on the assumption that I will not buy a new hard drive, monitors, keyboard, mouse, software license etc.
I know this is a shitty blog, cuz I´m not really doing anything with it.
It´s just that for the moment I feel kinda lazy. I could put up a ton of handhistories etc to make the blog more interesting, but I don´t know how much responses I will get.
Anyway, the first two weeks in January I had huge computer problems. I couldn´t play for more than 20-30 mins, then my computer froze. So it was terribly frustrating. First I added some more RAM and tried lots of other stuff. I ended up rebooting C:. Finally it works better. This first two weeks in January really drained my energy. Usually I lose the first like 10-20 mins in a session so the computer problems certainly didn´t help my results, neither did it help when I played a big pot and my computer died on me etc.
Considering the above, I´m quite satisfied with the results in January so far.
This is my graph from the 2nd of January-23rd of January. I started a new PT-db the 2nd of January so my results from the first of January isn´t in the graph. The result for the years first day was +4k. So I´m up about 43k so far.

April was a pretty good month for me. Im not sure of the exact ammt i won because im on the wrong computer, but i played about 40k hands of mostly 160 deep w/ some 200nl and 200plo. I was up over 9k but the last 3 days have been pretty horrible for me. I hit a big downswing at 200nl. I dont feel like boring everyone w/ bad beat stories so instead ill just talk about May.
Goals for may:
1)10k hands of 100nl 4 tabling-I dont think im playing as optimally as i shold be at 1/2 so im going to play 10k hands of 100nl and if i get a winrate of 5ptbb/100 or better ill move up. If not ill repeat untill i get it.
2) play 40k hands of 200nl 6m/hu 4 tabling. dont care about my winrate or anything im just going to try to play as good as i can every session.
3)Play as many FTOPS events as i can.
4)Post more hands/think about the game more.
Well school is almost over. I have like 5 class periods left and im done for the semester thank God. After school gets out im moving into my friend Derek's hosue because living at home sucks. Its only 300/month+food and stuff. Also im looking to buy a new compter with a really big monitor so i can comfortably fit 12 tables. If anyone knows a good computer to get let me know, or is getting a computer custom built a better deal?
I just logged onto fulltilt and apparently they made deep stack games at every level now which is freakin awesome. im so pumped im gonna go play right now.
gl, TJ
I set up my new 24 inch monitor which is a freakin beast. I can 12 table on this thing easily. The new computer is pretty nice. It's got great rating on everything except its graphics card. I didnt really mind since i dont really play video games on the computer any more. I also bought a new computer chair becuase my ass hurts from sitting on these wooden kitcken chairs. I only ended up spending about 1k on all of this which i think is a pretty sweet deal considering what i got. (sorry no pics, i know this post is useless w/o pics)
I played a short 50hu session on stars and just got destroyed for 350. I was hungover and definitly not playing very focused. I told myself i wasnt going to play poker yesterday but i wanted to try out the new monitor and i just played bad. I was hungover and not focused at all. Im leaving to go to visit my dad in chicago for 2 weeks so im sure ill have alot of poker time up there. I plan on playing atleast 20k hands over the next 2 weeks. I dont have pokertracker up there so im gonna just play off of reads i can develope.
Gotta go start packing, gl
TJ
Chug a lug. Missing hands for about half the month when I was back in Charlotte and playing on my own computer. Also, missing hands when I played on Luke's computer as well. Probably about 5-7k hands where I made 2ish buyins.
Up about 4k in just buyins and another $887.18 in rakeback. Total profit for the month: about 4.9k ca-ching!!
hmmmm, "variable" is the word that springs to mind...
And to add to the overall picture of variability, here are the stats from my other computer:
