CARDRUNNERS

Been a very good fullring week, and pretty bad 6 max week. Just played terrible poker at 6 max 2/4 NLHE. Made bad calls, bad bluffs and got unlucky in some spots, so I think I'm down 5-6 buyins at 2/4. Which kinda sucks, since some of my best periods in poker has come from playing 2/4 and beating the limit for 8-9 ptBB/100hands. I will review my play later this month after I finish my fullring play, can't stay in red at 2/4:P

Have not included the 6max hands in this graph, as they are very depressing. I really ran super hot at my last session, kept getting in good spots, and sucking out in one hand were my play most likely is -EV.

( Played this hand optimaly I think, I even checked my betsize in the PT "Pot Odds" and its a pretty good reraise IMO, the river check is something I would do sometimes on these draw heavy boards, stupid shove by him though as I'm calling w/A high here b/c the pots so big.)

Pretty strange month. Started running pretty bad at 1/2 6max NLHE, I think Im down about 9 buyins or so. Then decided to fuck the variance and play fullring 1/2 and just grind out some profits. That went better than expected.

I will probably go back to grinding 1/2 fullring when I run bad, b/c its profitable, and is alot less variance.

After that I took my shots at 2/4 6 max, played bad and didnt adjust properly from the fullring games, playing spewy and not making the right folds. After being about even for 8K hands at 2/4 I realised I was playing shitty, so I made some changes to my game, folding more in spots were my equity vs their ranges are -EV. And playing better postflop in general. I think my preflop play was top notch, however my postflop play was not good enough, still not actually, hopefully february will be better. As Im not very happy with my overall play.

So Im up 12K$ this month(13,5 if you add the rakeback) which is great. Playing mostly 1/2 fullring. If I continue improving my game in february things should be going great, looking to book a +20K$ next month, which is doable.

Haven't blogged in a while, actually don't come to CR as often as I used to for some reason. Probably because I joined Deuces Cracked and my brain is totally saturated at this point. Holy shit there's so many vids to watch between here and there I wouldn't even be able to play if I even considered watching them all. And now CR combined with another site? Oh man, I'm not even going to look. DC is pretty cool overall, I like CR better but whatever. Both sites have good instructors and that's all I care about. I do like the DC video series format much better but it looks like CR is doing that now so good for them.

As for poker I've basically taken it easy since September. Oh and I switched from primarily full ring to primarily 6max. Things are going really well, I'm playing my normal tight game and winning 4-5 ptbb/100 after 75K hands so it hasn't been much of an adjustment aside from figuring out the regs and whatnot since I had no hands on them. I've also thrown in some long FR sessions and have been tearing it up at around 8 ptbb/100. Playing 6max has definitely improved my FR game, that's for sure. My numbers are waaaay different now. We'll see if I can keep it up though, I have been very selective about when I play so these results are pretty much my ceiling at my current skill level. But I need to crank hard from now until the end of the year to get a 3K bonus so I guess I'll find out soon enough. Grinding points is definitely a winrate killer but I'm not comfortable burning a relatively easy 3 grand when all I have to do is put in the hours on autopilot clicking a mouse. That would be pretty damn stupid.

Anyway, hopefully I'll get motivated to update this more frequently now. It was definitely fun for a while keeping a semi daily diary of how I was doing even if no one read it lol.

Following up from last month's success I have started off this month well also- primarily playing 400NL Full Ring. In fact, I'm almost as much as I was all last month combined. I haven't even really ran “great” either as I'm up less than a buyin according to PokerEV on all in luck before the river. With FTOPs coming around, yet again, this bankroll booster couldn't really come at a better time as I can now play in more events without feeling really negative about losing. But I will think more about that when the time comes. Hopefully I didn't jinx myself already.

While I am writing this at around 10:30 P.M., I'm waiting for my friend Justin to call on whether or not he's going out tonight. If he don't it looks like I'll be staying in unfortunately. One of the weekend nights I want to go out and it is looking like a no go. I have a couple ideas on things I could say wherever we go, if the opportunity is right, whether or not I'd actually use it is another question entirely.

UPDATE: It's 10:53PM and appears we are not going. It's not worth it at this time now anyway. Time to get unchanged. One rare night I was in the mood to go out too. I really really don't feel like going to this one place tomorrow night as apparently a crap band is playing there which means you'll need the usual sign language and lipreading to communicate. So I have no idea on what to do now.

Big game this weekend. It's going to be really tough- much more so than last week. One thing that concerned me last week is after moving the ball, we couldn't get it in the endzone. If that happens against the Giants, chances are we won't win. I was hoping to win tickets somehow but that did not come to fruition. As for the other games, I'm thinking Panthers will crush the Cards by at least 20. Titans and Ravens could go either way as I really wouldn't trust Flacco or Collins against either of these defenses. For the sake of not picking all favorites, I'll go with the Ravens. For the Steelers game, I'm always concerned about their line giving up sacks but I don't think that will be much of an issue in this one. I also can't imagine Turner outcoaching someone two weeks in a row.
