As far as poker is concerned, im starting 2008 a little late. As I mentioned in an earlier entry I have not played since October. Having taken an enforced break, due to a thoroughly unreliable laptop, I am now ready to continue my "challenge" of turning "$15 into $150,000"
Even now, as I think about this challenge, it amuses me - the ridiculousness of the whole idea makes me smile. And I like that. When I think about the possibitly of reaching this desired outcome, and I picture it in my mind, I find it both hugely inspiring and very intimidating - at times i want to mentally shrink away from the very idea.
As I think about the journey the destination seems impossibly far away. I have no idea how to quantify it or make it seem more tangible. I have no idea even, how to take my monetory goal and come up with a reasonable time frame for completion - should i ever get that far. That makes it intersting I suppose.
It seems to me, that my approach going forward should be to abandon the notion of timeframes or deadlines. Im thinking that all I can do is manage my bankroll correctly. Letting my skill level and variance, dictate how fast I move up and down the various limits. Off the top of my head, 30 buy ins seems reasonable for NLHE, moving down a limit at 25.
so,
for NLHE it looks like a possible bankroll plan would be.
nl10, $150-$300
nl10, $300-750
nl25, $750-1500
nl50, $1500-$3000
nl100, $3000-$6000
nl200, $6000-$12 000
nl400, $12000-$18000
nl600, $18000-$30000
nl1000, $30 000 - $60000
nl2000, $60000- $150000

i do plan to mix in some lhe, plo and 08 in an attempt to become a well rounded player but I think most of my hands will be played at nlhe. Whether or not I have the skill to move up the limits at a reasonable pace remains to be seen.

I am getting close to leaving for Vegas, and I cannot wait. There are a couple dozen people I am anxious to meet, plus I like to gambol. It should be fun. My sister will be there for a couple days as well.

I have no idea what to say today.....
My life is really at the point where I can't even find enough infor for a blog half the time....................................

I must say that this new site is fantastic. It looks amazing. I can't wait to dive in and continue filling my brain with video buffet. Damn good idea to make blogs open to everyone. Proud to be a part of the Cardrunners family.

I gave 4 BI to a guy in 50c HU. I played pretty bad and him playing every hand and making big hands constantly tilted me a bit. Playing poker at 4 am is generally a bad idea. !!!!!!!!!
Still finished the day 1.5BI ahead. So it's alright I guess.

I can't possibly go much longer without a new PC, analyzing session data through cake text blows. I'm selling 2 sampler sequencers on ebay to finaly just buy one. I can't really examine my game enough and as a result of my crappy mac/VPC setup, I'm most likely stunting my growth as a poker player. My session review is so half ass because of this. My earlier idea of with drwing from my BR doesn't really seem like a great Idea. if I'm trying to move up in limits as fast as possible, as well as be comfortable in the limit in which I'm playing now, I thinks it's best to leave the BR be. So with luck ,the custom PC with a 2nd monitor is hopefully in the works. Maybe I will be able to contribute more insight, as opposed to writing about how complete donks are responding strange to faster betting.

Didn't do good. Dont have numbers because PT isn't working properly. I do know I played 11 SNGs and only cashed 3 times. 2 3rds and a 2nd. Busted on bubble a 5 times twice when my KK and AK ran up against AA. The other times were my AQ v KJ and the other two I don't remember. So I lost $65 more today. I have no idea what to do. I can't win anything but I feel I am playing good. O well
