What's Your Edge
Siiiigh. Poker has been the nut low lately. I did win a $2000 sat into the main event here, so thats not bad. I made 2 pair and lost to a set then ran AKs into AA in the first 2 levels of the main event. I miiiight could have folded the AKs, but w/e. At least now I get to play in the sngicons league and then fly tomw early tomorrow. Holla

I accuse zimba and andrew of cheating.
They have both passed my blog in popularity, and i suspect foul play is afoot. I expect both of them to be mass refreshing their own blog to increase hits.
So when you are on my main blog page, refresh it a bunch of times (just hit F5 to refresh like in the picture below) to level the playing field against these blog abusers.
Delayed Foxwoods.. leaving tomorrow. Was feeling pretty rough after Niagara for some reason. Feeling better today so plan to leave tomorrow. I also decided to shift my focus from playing the smaller events to getting into the Main Event. The qualifiers look great.
The last few days have been pretty good. I got back to Columbia yesterday morning, after getting up super early due to a weird sleep schedule. I am happy to be back in Columbia, but I had a great time in St. Louis and Vegas. It's weird to think that I have a week until my last year of college starts.
Poker has been going better since Vegas and I am hoping it keeps up. I am playing in the last two FTOPS events tomorrow, a $120 knockout tourney and the $500 main event. I bought in directly to the knockout and I sold off half of myself in the main event. Four of my friends bought pieces of me, so hopefully I can reward them.
ONE TIME!!

So I decided to forgo buying a balla watch and instead decided to make a smarter investment, a nice poker setup. I have missed hours and hours of +EV because my main playing setup was on my roommates PC because my Mac doesn't support PokerAceHud or PokerTracker, and to boot, it tends to lag and its small, so even if I wanted to play on it its hard to support tons of tables.
Soooo.. I went balla and purchased a nice $1600 setup plus a small desk to play on. This included a PC which I have no idea the stats of, but the main portion which is poker related is the massive 30 inch screen. A beauty. I'll post pics soon but I'm not in the mood right now.
I put in a good first session and won approx 3 buyin, one of my biggest wins in a while (horrible I know). The "ty" hand of the day occured when 50BB potted four off the button, 75xbb next in line called, I called w/ 66 otb and SB called. Flop 623 rainbow, raiser bets close to pot next in line raises like 2x pot I salivate, shove, and they both call with A5hh and KJ of clubs. Uh, right. ty for the monies.

I am putting it out there, I will be accepting stake requests for the Main Event. That is all
Thinking about last year and going through my results I've come to realize that I currently make more money trading the stock market than I do playing poker. Maybe it's time to upgrade trading the market to my main occupation and treating poker as a hobby?
I recognize this way of thinking from back when I was studying enineering physics and realized that I was making more money playing poker than I ever could make in a regular job. So I upgraded poker to be my main occupation. Maybe I've come to a new crossroad in life where I have to be honest to myself. The reason why I'm currently playing alot of poker is that it's so much fun. I don't play to make a ton of money. That sounds like a hobby to me. Trading the stock market is sort of fun but feels more like something I have to do to bring in money. The word work comes to mind.
I'm not saying that there won't be a time in my life where poker will be my main occupation again. Who knows? All I'm sure of is that poker will always be at least my favourite hobby.
