Wow. I had a wild day at the tables today. I started off at 10/20nl on Party. Within 15 minutes I was down 5k. I decided to move down to 5/10nl so that I didn't have a terrible day. I was down probably 3k or so at my peak there. I was running terrible and tilting pretty bad. I got back to down 1k at 5/10 and down 6k on the day and quit. I wasn't sure if I would play any more today.
I came back before dinner and decided to play some 5/10nl for about an hour on Party. Something interesting that I've noticed is that I can play 8 tables pretty easily if I spread them out between my two screens and don't resize them. If I play 9 on one screen resized it becomes much more difficult. Don't ask me why. I'm done ever resizing tables. I don't like how small they get. It just makes it hard to follow the action. Anyway, I was going back and forth between being up 1k and down 1k and then I went on a sick sick rush. I won all three of these hands in the span of 2 minutes.

I was pretty sure the guy floated me on the flop. The huge bet on the turn made it even more likely in my mind. Sweet river. I'm not sure I blame him for calling.

Pretty standard.
That session I won about 5k and was then down 1k on the day.
I ate dinner and didn't play for awhile. I came back and this time decided to play a few tables of UB. I was playing 3 10/25 and decided to add a 5/10. I ran really hot at the 5/10 table adn got up to a 5k stack. I did pretty well at the 10/25 too. I won about 7k that session to end the day up 6k. Here are a few UB hands.

I'm up about 11k at 5/10 the last two days. I'm definitely going to be playing more 5/10 in the future.

I am going to read some books, workout more, get caught up on school and put more of my time into Cardrunners for the time being. That sounds a lot more productive than sitting at some virtual poker tables and losing or breaking even.

Anyway, I just 5 tabled 5/10 today for a few hours and really ran great. I haven't been running well lately, so it was an excellent feeling to run well. I picked up about 10 buyins. I honestly think I might have my best win rate at 5/10 and I'll have much smaller downswings playing at 5/10. Today I played about 50/50 w/ NLHE and PLO. I def made more in PLO. If you can run hot and play well in PLO you are gonna crush. Luckily, that was the case today. Unfortunately, there hasn't been much action at the HA tables. I wish I could get more action there...

I kind of lost my mind and decided to make a huge purchase. I have wanted a Ferrari all my life and I finally decided to get one. It's a really sick car and I love driving it around so far. More updates to follow.
Here are some of the pics I got on the beach in San Fran. I only had my iphone as a camera so I didn't take many pics. I'm surprised at how well these pics came out though and I think I'll take more with my phone in the future.

Ok. You didn't really believe I got a Ferrari did you? Actually, my dad is the baller in my family. He loves cars and had wanted to get a Ferrari all his life. He finally got one about a year ago. That's what I got to drive on the track and it was just absolutely the sickest car I have ever driven. I wanted to get the pic up before i posted about driving that car. It is a 2004 Stradale with paddle shifters. I was a bit hesitant about the paddle shifters because I love using a stick, but I was so wrong. They make it so much more fun because it's a lot easier to shift very quickly, aka easier to go faster.

Obviously, my last post wasn't the nicest post to stevesbets. But, cmon, it's stevesbets we're talking about! Anyway, karma decided to give me a nice kick in the ass last night when I had a rematch with steves. He crushed me. It wasn't quite as bad as the whopping I put on him, but it was damn close. It wasn't even an interesting match because we just constantly stacked on the flop with 60/40s. When you can't win the 60s or the 40s, you're screwed.
Somehow I hadn't put on my sad face. I should have.
Cole came into town for the weekend. It's always good seeing Cole. He also brought Larissa, his gf. I had never met her before. She was a very cool girl. We went out to dinner Saturday night. Cole had lost his ID the night before, so him and Larissa called it a early night. The next day we met up at my place to catch a cubs game. It was a beautiful day, but the cubs blew the shit out of the pirates so the game wasn't as good as it could have been.
Here are all of us before the game.
I currently rent the apartment I'm in and they are going to kick us out in 2 months because the owner decided he is going to sell it. The more I think about it, the more I think I'm just going to buy it. It's probably about time I get into some real estate. It's an exciting feeling knowing that I might own my own condo in a few months. I'll write more about that as I get more details.

If you are making the money I would guess from poker you should already own a place. Buy. Why piss your money away on rent. Mortgage interest is deductable. Send me a message if you need any real estate advice. Its my line of work.

I won 10 buyins after dinner last night. Today I dropped 5. I just need to come to grips with the swings. More updates to come.

This challenge is going to have to continue somewhere below 2/4. I haven't had a single winning session in a week. I'm getting absolutely crushed.

I couldn't be more frustrated/dissapointed.
I'm thinking about going down to like .25/.50. The upside to doing that is that I can grind out a lot of hands there and possibly make a moving up series for PLO. I think that would be good for the site and it could be interesting if I could actually move up and document it.
I don't know. I'm lost. At least I'm on pace with the hands.
Good news is that I'm heading to my cabin tomorrow. I couldn't be more excited to get up there. I'm really looking forward to playing some golf and doing some fishing. I also haven't spent as much time as I'd like with my family lately.

that sucks the results havent been there for you recently. i think that a moving up series would be awesome for the site and something i would be really interested in wathcing and would probably help you get some confidence back

It really sucks to see you run this bad. That said, i've always liked ur teaching style and it would be awesome to see u do a series on movin up from the micros, whether or not u decide to drop that low.
Whatever u decide, i hope ur back crushing 2/4-5/10 as fast as possible.

Ok.....with soooo many people wanting to get into PLO now a days, a moving up series would be unbelievable for the customers and would definately get a lot of new subscriptions for this video series alone. I've only recently started taking poker seriously and am a 50NL/100NL atm but already am reading book about PLO as according to every one and their dog, "that's the way the poker is going." Would be a great series and I for one hope that it happens.

I got home and found out it was Wednesday, which is cool because I have friends visiting again this weekend.
This has been an up and down week. Had some pretty good results (when I've played) online, but lost 10k at the main event, about 10k on a backing deal, and about 30k playing live. I'm going to start playing a lot more internet poker in the coming months, more on that later.
I'm going to go get some sun now, I'm going to post a recap of my last few days soon.

I'll probably be out on the course all day, then come home and crash as I'm already pretty tired.
Today was uneventful, I played pretty well and stopped by 5 buyin downswing by winning a buyin back. I'm up only 4-5 buyins on the month so far, which is still pretty decent $ but I'd like to be up a heck fo a lot more.
As soon as I get all my stuff moved into my condo (namely my dual monitors), I can start concentrating a lot more on poker.
