This hand is a good example of how I've been running.
I hope this keeps up as long as possible. If I run like this in the Aruba tourny, I'm a lock to win.
I'm back at home now, because I'm going to Aruba on Saturday. I'm getting pretty pumped for that. It's also nice to be home for a day. I have two younger brotehrs and I like seeing them as well as my parents and our dog. My parents always take me out to a nice dinner when I come home, so I'm looking forward to that tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm basically going to try to get a lot of busy life admin things done as well as prepare for the trip. I'm sure I'll have time to play some, but I don't know if I'll play a lot.
Here's a quick run down if you care.
KK into AA twice, QQ into AA once, 910 on 91010 board loses to J10, AA vs KJ on Kxx board, AA vs set on 972 board, QQ on Q10x board vs KJ.
Every one of those pots was 5k+. I feel just absolutely sick right now. This is the most frustrating run of my life. I think that the legislation is putting added pressure on me to win. I know my days might be numbered. I played so well today though...UGH.
So I'm on a nasty PLO run. I've dropped 5k the last two days. It's been pretty ugly. Honestly, it just makes it clear that I still have a lot of work to do on my PLO game. It's ok. I like the challenge. My biggest issue is playing too loose. I just have a hell of a time playing tight and that kills me. When I look at my stats, the sessions where my VPIP is under 40, I have won every one. When it's over 40, the swings are crazy and I've gotten killed a few times. The games are soft though and I feel I'll get my PLO game pretty good in the next few weeks and really crush the games. I didn't get ahold of Gambler today, but he's no doubt in the lead. I still feel alright. I'm still up like 2k on the month and I can easily go on a run. Being around my roommates who are playing 10/20 and 25/50 is giving me the itch to get back at the higher stakes. I thought I had lost that drive. I'm not sure it's a good thing that I want to get back up there, but we will see. I want to run my account up a bit and then move up to 3/6. I'd like to make a run while I'm in Vegas. I'll push the bankroll boundaries a bit, but not much. We'll see what happens when I get home.
This is why I need to figure out this game.
Common the last two days.
Again, why I need to keep learning this game.
I'm going to play the $1500 6 man event on Thursday. I'm looking forward to that.
Unfortunately I haven't taken too many pics. Here's what I got so far.
Lil' Deeb, Brian and Drama at Light.
Me and Taylor.
I'll get more/better pictures up soon.
So today the "Anti Hit and Run" happened to me. I've fantasized a lot about this actually happening, and much to my delight today was the day I was able to experience it.
All heads up players know about the hit and run. Typically a guy sits down with 20-30 BB's and whatever loose change is left over (today it was something like $2355.37 at a $50/100NL table) in his account and "takes a shot." Now, there's nothing wrong with taking shots. In fact, I encourage people to put their whole bankroll on the line to play me, but it truly is funny when someone has thirty seven cents on the table at a 10k buyin table.
Anyway, we play a couple of pots, I bet, he raises all in, I fold, etc. Finally, I start to push him around a little bit, double barrel him once, and next thing I know I'm up $475 after 9 hands. Then, the strangest thing happens. HE SITS OUT. Trust me, NO ONE ever sits out after playing 9 hands and losing less than 5 BB's. It just doesn't happen.
Well folks, it happened today. The anti hit and run. I asked Andrew and he said he'd never had it happen to him before. I'm not sure I've ever had it happen to me before in a sample size so small (less than 10 hands).
Post some things here that I should buy with my $475 and I'll probably blow the money frivolously.

ps - i'll tell more aruba stories later.

Use it to buy dvds of tv shows from your childhood. Transformers, He-Man, Ninja Turtles. Or maybe go old school sitcom with things like Family Matters and Full House.

he came to his senses. or maybe he lived in a trailor park and his wife came in swinging a skillet at his head.

No worries. He probably accidentally threw something and killed a family member.
\$475? Couple of these guys. http://www.stuffmagazine.com/gear/product.aspx?id=698&area=32

Buy some good booze and celebrate with a toast to the anti-hit and run donkey. The other move you put on these guys is take a pot or two off them if you can and hit and run them before they do it to you first.

These things are amazing. Just got one a few months ago. Very easy to use. Here's a link: http://bbq.about.com/od/smokerreviews/gr/aapr042505d.htm
Feel free to PM if you have any questions at all. You can get them for \$300 at Dick's Sporting Goods or a Bass Pro.

at our school you can buy a half a cow for about 700\$, I would suggest trying to find another guy to anti hit and run you for the extra 225\$. talk to the meat sciences department at a local college.
Oct 10, 07 06:13:50
go to a playmoney table and sit down and say to someone do you want 475\$ and they say yes and you say ok and send it to them. you would make their year
Oct 10, 07 09:49:47
\$475 that should be enough for an hour and a half.

Have seen that a few times at low limits, though usually they do it once they've been stacked.
But I have another fun version of the hit&run, which kinda pissed me off much more :
I sit down at a hu NL100 against another 6man NL200 regular. It starts standard, raise button, fold BB.. The first hand seeing a flop, maybe 8th hand played, I have J5s at button, he smooth calls pf, flop J83 2d, I cbet, he check raises, I had decided to start over agressively and I 3-bet, he shoves, I call and he shows 88. No miracle, one buy in down, it's just the start.
But immediately he sits outs and says : "I don't want to play with you, you play too weird"! I tried to convince him : "I'm easy money..". Him : "yeah, easy come, easy go..", "you have J5 here, you're crazy".
Kind of a "I hit&run but I stay at my table, go away please.". And 5 minutes later, after I had opened another table waiting for a customer, he comes and tells me :"but I'm ok to play hu PLO if you want"...

You could but like 200 bags of Haribo with that. Make sure it's Starmix mind, none of this Tangfastic bollocks. Mmmmm Haribo...
I am honestly scared of what is going to happen when my downswong hits. I feel like I am playing great, but definitely still running great. To continue getting the ironman points, I've been playing for about an hour a day. Sometimes more on the weekends. I'm going back home to St. Louis tomorrow, so took off work early and played for about 45 minutes.
The same thing that has been happening for the past 2 weeks continued to happen. I don't even remember the last losing day I had. That scares the shit out of me moving forward, because if I can run this good, I know I can and will run equally bad.
Just checked through PT. I've only had 3 losing days since November 6th, when I moved back to playing on my laptop. Pretty sick run. I haven't had any back-to-back losing days at all.

So we are down to 8 in the NBC heads up tournament. Today was weird. I was hit by the deck against Gabe and basically won every hand. Against Greg Raymer, he won probably 16 out of the first 20 pots but I eventually got AA and got in on 532 board and didnt run bad, so that was nice. I have to play Chris Ferguson tomorrow, who has taken 2nd twice in this event and is now deep again this year, which is quite impressive. Hopefully I can run hot. If I happen to win that game, I will play the winner of Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen, which im sure will be fun. So, nows time to make something happen. I really hope I have one more day of running good left in me.
First I must congratulate Barack Obama for clinching his candidacy. I'm not rooting him on because he's black. Skin color and his ethnicity doesn't matter to me as long as we have a candidate who can deliver at crunch time. It seems while other candidates are mudslinging and tearing each other down, he seems to avoid that and still prevail in the public's eyes. Sure he may be a little naive to think that all he has to do to change foreign policy is sit down with a country and talk, but hell, the shit we're doing now obviously isn't working. Maybe a good conversation and a few less bomb threats are in order. Just my two cents. You can keep the change.
Moving on.....
Omaha is a very sick and demented game. The same shit always seem to happen. Play 2/4, run like shit. Move down (I got 125BI for NL200 which I think is adequate for full time play) and crush NL200 which extremely frustrates me because if I only ran like I run when I move down, I wouldn't 1/2 way to even instead of 1/4 of the way. Somehow I'm going to have to convert that mind frame and make it work. I was about to take a huge smoke break and I don't even fuck with the ghanja anymore after this one. If you can't get it as a 92% favorite in Omaha and hold, you know the coin flips, aren't going your way.

Lastly, if you run into some problems with your mouse and keyboard and/or just want to upgrade like a Beyonce track. Logitech has the MX5500 which is hands down the best feeling mouse and keyboard I've ever felt. It also a LCD that alerts you of time, weather, and emails. A little steep at $185 but it's a tax right for my "business".
