This was a pretty tough call on the river. I thought there was a reasonable chance he had Q10. he hadn't been playing all that well and appeared somewhat tilted. I made the call and won an almost 7k pot. sweeeet.

Talk about a hell of a flop and a hell of a turn. Terrible luck for the villian.

Against Hoyt Corkins (dadgumit) 88 is the nuts on the turn. I instacalled the turn. I don't know what I would have done if he bet the river, but thankfully he didn't. I think I would have called a reasonable sized bet.
This session: +5590.50
Overall: +20717.58
1467.58 AHEAD of pace
I'll see if I can post pics because I have pictures from the last 6 months to post, including my condo.
I leave for vegas in less than 2 weeks now. Crazy that it is almost here.

Played another 6-table session tonight on FTP at 2/4nl. It's much easier to table select when I'm only playing 6 instead of 9 or 12. Man the games were so juicy tonight. had a couple of coolers, 1 big one my way and 1 the other way, and also set my record for new biggest pot ever won and ever lost.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2004243 - Cooler in my favor
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2004244 - $900 set under set. Biggest pot ever lost
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2004246 - Set vs overpair 2 buyins deep. Perfect situation against a donk. Biggest pot ever
Updated graph for the month:
I'm loving 400nl so far and I am really loving January.

Today was rough. I bustoed from the reno wpt event after a long 2 levels. I had AK 6 times and missed every time. I eventually made a set and lost to runner runner flush. Such is life. I came back to the room and got heads up for a wsop seat on stars and had KJ lose to KJ. It came 3 diamonds and then i hoped another wouldnt fall. The turn was a heart and the river was the D to screw me. I also played the $1000 mtt on stars today. I doubled up with a set in the first 10 minutes nut eventually decided to lose lots of hands. So, im stuck in reno for 3 days before im flying to foxwoods. Hopefully foxwoods is a little more kind.

Saw you on GSN the other night. Played well and ran v well in a few all in pots. Sick shove with J8ss...I like it a lot. Too bad Corey made a sick sick fckin soul read. Looking forward to see your next tv appearance. It's so gratifying to see internet MTT players get credit finally... since there's now a million of them appearing at final tables.
BTW, this could be the coolest city in the US that i've been to. Incredibly unique and a great vibe. Bourbon street is nutty. I'm too hungover to continue...
Okay...it's time to go insane again!! yippee. Vegas is a lot of fun hanging out with the boys, but poker is not going too well. I basically ran blazing hot for about two weeks, but things are starting to take a major turn for the worse. It's okay, because I've made a ton of money in the past couple of weeks but it's still infuriating to lose just about every big pot. Middle set isn't good enough, I need quads or better.
I'm gonna post some hands bc I'm bored and feel like venting. Maybe this blog will stop being so poker heavy at some point...that point isn't yet.
I run aces into ace king
dude check/calls 66 in a 4-bet and bustos me
i hate the river
middle set no good!
kings have to be good when i flop middle set...right?!?!
whatre the odds of kings holding up on a jack high board...0%?
i have kings, you have KQ on Qxx...lets go bust!!
hmm...are aces ever good here?
blah...gonna go eat at shintaro tonight to make me feel better...poker is the blowy
Dear Blog,
Well, today was certainly busy. Poker as afforded me a strange lifestyle. I take care of both of my parents basically and today they both had doctor's appointments. I snuck a few hundred hands in before I rounded up the parents and headed to the hospital.
I dropped them in ducked out to do some quick splurging. I wanted something poker related to read so I scooped s copy of the Full Tilt Poker Strategy Guide. I'll give a review when I'm done. I don't play many tournaments but maybe this will serve as motivation since I'm trying to go to the PCA.
I went back to the hospital but forgot I needed to blow some money at my favorite store Best Buy. I grabbed NBA Live '08 which I meant to buy last night when I was in there. All opposition, get your money up, two weeks, I'll put the money on the tables. I also wanted the Touch so I go browse CR's site on the go so I went ahead and spent money on another Ipod which is Ironic because I already have an 80GB which isn't full yet.
16 days til marriage, 17 days to my birthday. (Please poker world, send me some strippers)Me and the wifey planned a honeymoon cruise so I better work extra hard over the next couple weeks before we leave. I'll have 6 days without play
. I guess she's worth it though.
Anyway, thats enough for now. i logged 2,238 hands. Ended my run at $417.25. Not as good as yesterday but definitely happy with the continuing of an upward trend of poker.
Damn this post is getting long. Here's a hand analysis for your troubles.
First thing and most important to note here is slow playing in multi-way pots is -EV. I flat called the 3 bet after I'm reraise a villain calls looking to set or fold. My implied odds are very good here and a set is most certainly worth felting. I set the villain leads, I cold call to let the BU hang himself and somehow God blesses me with two two outers. Is it Christmas already? (Note: Calling 3 bets to set mine is -EV in most cases unless stacks are deep or you're certain your opponent has a strong hand. Here, I'm almost sure his hand is strong which heavenly influences a call. If I was on the BU and made the same raise and got 3-bet, i could assume that his range was wider than big pairs and AK and would have to fold because I wouldn't get paid enough when i actually did make the set.

I'm out,
-Locks18
Michael Graves is at the Bluff featured table and enjoyed the banter and big entrance of the ever late Phil Hellmuth. He is at 19k.
-Isaac Haxton is at 17k.
-Tom 'Brystmar' Berg is off to a slow start at 11.3k.
-Senovio 'dorsal fin' Ramirez III is at 20k.
-Emil 'whitelime' Patel just made a tough laydown in a big pot to fall back to 20k.
-Robin 'berg' Bergen had set over set to leap to 40k early.
-Jamie 'jambon' Brown appears to have busted during the first level.
-Mike 'suicydal' Myers is around 19k.
-Lyric is at 25k
I'm still trying to track down Frank Rusnak, Rob 'rsmm' Roseman and Marlis 'stakks' Sawicki.
I woke up this morning after a good nights sleep ready to hit the 50NL tables and possibly make up some ground in the BR headed towards 100NL. Unfortunatly I ran like a terd this morning and got trucked for 3 BI's. The following make up some of the hands that put together my losing session this morning.
Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2296166
Guy either crushed the flop with trips/straight or he rivered me, either way I'm beat.
Hand 2: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2296174
Tried to pick off a bluff here, but guy made a horrible call on the flop and turned a set. Standard.
Hand 3: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2296183
Coolered set over set. Ouch!
The rest of the session was made up of numerous occasions of me missing and get raised or reraised on the flop or turn. These types of sessions are the pits and make the day out to be a real grind. I just have to keep looking to the big picture and realize that over the long run I will come out shining if I continue to learn and play to the best of my ability. Hopefully I can make up for my losses tonite as I will have alot of time to play.
Just finished a marathon (atleast for me) session of 5+ hours. I played 2K hands and booked a $650 win.
I started off the session playing more conservative, similar to the style in the Stinger, Andrew video today, thing were going pretty well. ****I'm doing the hands in the order of the session.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2291989 - Flop the nutz, a little worried about being prerolled but he shows up w/ an overpair and flush draw and I hold. Its kind of surprising to note that you are only a 65% favorite in this spot.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2291999 - Guy chases the bare str8 draw (w/ no flush draw) to the river and hits. Sick. ********** Runovic holds over me the whole day and induces a tilt. 70% fav when most of the money went in.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2292013 - Same guy. This is how its been lately. When I need to get there I can't but when they need to they do (note my draw is a lot better then his). 41.5%
Now I'm a little upset but still playing well. Tired of this guy holding over me lately. I actually end up stacking him when I set over set him and he has no redraws. Then my famous WiCane Dumb Blowup of the Day.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2292026 - Hate my play on all streets. I guess he did a good job of creating the blowup. Only 30% equity.
That hand pretty much ignited liftoff and I went on tilt. If you haven't noticed it is by far the biggest issue i have in poker. I then proceeded to lose set over set in a 3 handed game and was down 1.3K at my lowest point. I hover between down $400 and 1K then hit a monster pot.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?2292048 - I like the way I played this althought it pretty much is a cooler.
From there I won a few nice pots and lost a couple others. I'm still tilting too much but still haven't hit that rush I'm looking for. I play great in spurts but sometimes run to many multi-street bluffs (although this probably helps me get paid off so much). I went 1-4 in the $500+ pot flips.
I'm not sure if I will be playing tonight. But gl at the tables.
