The bad thing about only doing this for one month opposed to three is that if I run bad, I could be in a world of hurt as far as reaching the goal. That's ok, I'm willing to accept failure if that occurs. I just can't commit to doing this for more than one month for the time being. However, if it goes well, I may mimick it next month or do it for a longer period.
I'll update on Day 1 later.

I hope this keeps up as long as possible. If I run like this in the Aruba tourny, I'm a lock to win.
I'm back at home now, because I'm going to Aruba on Saturday. I'm getting pretty pumped for that. It's also nice to be home for a day. I have two younger brotehrs and I like seeing them as well as my parents and our dog. My parents always take me out to a nice dinner when I come home, so I'm looking forward to that tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm basically going to try to get a lot of busy life admin things done as well as prepare for the trip. I'm sure I'll have time to play some, but I don't know if I'll play a lot.

Here's a quick run down if you care.
KK into AA twice, QQ into AA once, 910 on 91010 board loses to J10, AA vs KJ on Kxx board, AA vs set on 972 board, QQ on Q10x board vs KJ.
Every one of those pots was 5k+. I feel just absolutely sick right now. This is the most frustrating run of my life. I think that the legislation is putting added pressure on me to win. I know my days might be numbered. I played so well today though...UGH.

I got fleecded again today. I just can't get into situations where I win. I lost a 3k pot w/ Ac9c on 2c4c6c board. The other guy had 3c5c. That was lovely. This is a pretty disapointing run. I've never had one this bad in my poker career. I looked at the numbers and from my peak for the year I'm down 42k. Thats a sickening downswing. My bankroll online is about 6k now, lol. If you told me that 2 months ago, I would have thought you were crazy. Oh well. I'm either gonna play on stars or ftp. I feel like I need to get away from UB for awhile. Things just aren't going well on there. I've heard the FTP is nitty, which isn't good. However, stars doesnt have rakeback. I'm gonna have to think it over.

The good news is I'm headed out to Spain for another trip this weekend. I leave Sunday for about 10 days. It should be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to getting away from the city for a little while. The city always wears on you if you spend too much time there without a break, and when the weather is cold you arent really able to take advantage of some of the parks the city has to offer.
i picked my two students, congrats to those two guys. i am going to try to do my best to improve their game over the next couple of months. i dont know how well im going to be able to teach, but im excited to try. ive had a few offers of people wiling to pay me a lot of money for lessons, so if these go well, i might do some of those offers.

yesterday that a man should never see. well, that will happen to ya when you simultaneously play piejay HU and a donkament on UB. well, my UB account is as close to bustoed as it has ever been (i think i have $1,200 left). I sent most of my money over to Full Tilt and left a little bit. It's a sad day, but I might be done with UB. We'll see. They took the $50/100 no limit games away for some reason, even though they don't run that much, that angers me.
So I busted 2 buyins to piejay, pretty standard stuff, piejay has a drawing hand, etc. Not particularly bad plays, but situations where I have to keep value betting because he doesn't HAVE to have TJ on Q98x board in a reraised pot, and QK SHOULD get paid. Ah, but he had it.
Then I nitted it up for 5 hours in the $1,000 UB tourney, somehow having a better than average stack even though I played like zero hands the whole day (i doubled through one time, no other pots bigger than raising and c-betting the flop). So some guy with a pretty big stack raises 400-800 blinds MP to like 2200 or something (i think), i have 130k and I shove AQo right next to him. I think he had about 270k to start the hand. So i just put all my chips in and he is thinking and thinking, at this point I almost want him to call because he would have already called me with AK, and i don't see him calling with small pairs, so he either has Ax or maybe TT or JJ, a range with which I do reasonably well against. Well he calls it off with 88 and I don't win the flip. I really don't even know if that is a good call. I really don't think it is simply because I have been playing so unbelievably tight, but maybe he doesn't know that. Even still, am i really shoving 22-77 that often there? I don't know, I'm not, but maybe MTT players do.
Oh well.
So I'll make a public service announcement to you guys. Don't download pirated CR videos. Why you ask? Some guy is going around embedding a trojan in our videos. I'm not 100% sure the files are infected, but I downloaded one, and then I freaked out because the file size was 2 MB larger than the same vid at CR, so I chnaged all of my passwords on another computer. I had already logged into aim on my (infected) CPU, and not 10 min later I get an IM from "Cardrunner13" asking me if i wanted to DL more videos. I suspect he was sent my aim login/pw info, and then tried to use it, and couldn't figure out why the password didn't work, so he figured he'd send me another one. So be really careful about downloading CR videos from anywhere but our site, this guy, despite speaking very broken english, is pretty clever. He's also sending these files to our admin, trying to get him to download them (genius). It's possible he's just pirating them and being a jerk and rubbing it in our faces, but I really don't think so. Be carefui.
One funny part to this story is that once I realized I may have a trojan, I changed all my passwords, but kept playing on UB. My roommate asked me why I would keep playing on my computer on UB, and I told him "eh, he can have my UB account, good luck if he tries getting my money off that site." I kid, though, UB actually is very good to me about withdrawing my money, and the real reason I wasn't worried was that I hardly had any money left in UB.
I'm using another cpu today, and I'm going to buy a new one tonight. There's too much sensitive info on the old one to risk it being compromised. I was in the market for a new one anyway, any suggestions? I've heard a macbook pro is good, any other non mac options?
Later in the evening we watched Superbad. There's nothing too interesting about this except for a short exchange:

Me: It's good, I loved it.
RGF: Really, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews, some people i talked to liked it, some hated it, etc.
Me; Really, not me, everyone i talked to liked it. Well, I guess you should take that for what it's worth, I don't really have that many friends.
RGF: LOL
Me: I'm serious...
RGF: Oh....lol?
It was pretty funny, basically that's her first impression of me. Oh well.

1. Mac is good but not for poker. You will have to stick to Windows so why bother? Theres plenty of PC notebooks for good money you can find anything you like.
2. Superbad is bad (*nod nod*) I didnt liked my gf didnt liked... only watched it bc Iverson was soeager about it. Maybe we are too old for that.
3. If you just downloaded .avi. .wmv and did not lauch it, you computer is safe. I can promise you that, Unless it was compromised before that already.
4. I have not heard that there is security issue in windows media player that lets attacker compromise your pc via .wmv files, so even if you launched it you probably still okay. The file size may differ due removal of DRM or/and embeding license information. Altho i would worry about that IM thingie. He may exploited your browser.
5. Regarding pirating. I live in country where like 90% of software is pirated. Nobody pays anything for stuff from internet period. But if i had choice to download CR vids for free... even if it would be 0 day releases i would still not go for it just because it made me more money than any other investments i made. Combined. So im simply grateful.
6. Use good firewall. This way if your computer is trojaned you will be able to prevent it from sending any sensetive info to the outside and will not allow inbound connections. I have very good experience with SPF (Seagate personal firewall) - its very simple to use, eats little resources and does the job perfectly.

I just got an HP because the screen is about the biggest I've seen. I hadn't really heard much about HP's, but I like it a lot so far. It's the HP Pavilion dv9000. And Superbad is definitely great, there are not mixed reviews.

Taylor, make sure you change your UB password as well. Can't they request/deposit funds from your bank account? You'll have to think about that... btw check my blog its #11 most popular under IversonXX3; I'd like to submit a video. I've been very succesful as of late and succesful longetrm overall at the midstakes 6max and HU NLHE vids. I would like to play you, stinger, townsend, or andrew HU at 1/2nl for a 2 hour session 2-4 tabling, and me and whoever I play would post both of our vids. It would be really interesting to see both sets of hole cards; i've had a few recommendations and there has been past speculation of me making a video- plz take it into consideration. I have a flexible schedule; I'm sure I can make a great and interesting vid and articulate my thoughts well. The two hour session would be split up into two vids... lemme know by commenting on my blog or PM'ing me... ty. Stinger has my screenname and so does Andrew, so if you could talk to them thatd be great.

def go macbook pro. Stars just came out with software for macs, FTP, the major site played on these days has amazing software for macs. Sides even if you want to use windows applications just get parallels. There's a reason townsend and a ton of others use this computer. Problem is, fully loaded it'll be around \$4k but amazing investment

Well it was definitely swingy, but since I bottomed out in the downswong I posted before, things have been going incredibly well. Over the weekend and including today I made just over $5k in about 8k hands. I'm playing 21/16.5 or so and winning 8.18PTbb/100. I'm actually running below expectation by about $800, so it could be more, but I'm not complaining. I've been hitting a lot of sets, but my green line is still above my blue line which means I'm winning a lot of pots without showdown. This has been something that I haven't done so well at in the past. I've been firing multiple barrels more often and just bluffing more at the right times. I'm not sure if this is just me running well or what. It is always easier to bluff when you run well because people see you show down the nuts all the time.
Overall I'm extremely happy with how things are going right now. Work is going well, I'm just about to wrap up my project and move onto my next one here in a week or so. Our negotiations are going to save the company at least $100k next year, which looks really good for both me and my boss. Clara and I are doing great. Can't wait to head to Orlando on Friday. I hope I get a nice burn to come back to the office with.

It's pretty sick to play the best I've ever played (day 2) and follow it up with a bad day like day 3. I know if I had played even half as good as I did on day 2 I would have made it to day 4. Oh well.
In other news, I'm back at school and classes have started again. I have one semester left of law school, and I hope to make this a fun semester by taking some weekend trips and seeing friends.
