 Hi guys,

I haven't blogged much recently because honestly, I just haven't had the desire to do so. I guess the first thing to talk about would be poker. November was my biggest month volume and cash wise. As a result, I was talking to my good friend Zimba and he wanted to interview me about that month. I told him a little about how I got involved in mtts and what resulted in a two part interview featuring my friend and mentor, Jason Koon (jakoon1985/novasky). Mine will be up next week! www.pokercurious.com/interviews/view/jason-novasky-koon-interview/

In November, I participated in a PLB team race where captains drafted team members and each person put in 1k to teams of 5. First and second place teams won part of the money and I'm happy to say my team came in second. It really motivated all of us to get our grind on during FTOPS.

December has been good so far despite the fact that I've been taking lots of time off (lots of time for me anyway!). I won first in the Stars daily 109 fo 40k for 14.4 and in the same day won the FTP daily 30k 6m for close to 9k. A few days later, I won the Stars 100q (2r1a) and then, just had my second biggest day ever on Wednesday. I got two second place finishes one in the UB 20k DS where I spewed hellaciously HU and in the UB 100c (1r1a) where it was all in three handed. The SS had JJ, big stack who covered me shoved into my bb with A9o and I made the call with 1010. He binked trip As by the river. Was sad because there was about a 5.8k jump between 2nd and 1st. I then took down the UB 80k sniper (well got 1st place prize money anyway!), the others wanted to discuss a deal 3 handed but I had about 65% of chips in play and refused to take less than 1st place prize money. They eventually chopped 2nd place money between 2nd and 3rd and gave me 1st for 22.2k and winning 34k for the day.

I feel as if, I'm finally getting into the swing of mtts. Months leading up to November since July have been all losing months. This downswing particularly hurt because WCOOP was in the midst of all this and I really dug myself in a hole. Overall, I'm extremely happy I made the switch to mtts. It's not for everyone, the grind can really wear a person down and I've learned how to deal with my tilt extremely well. Don't get me wrong, I still have a long ways to go but I used to get so upset over bad beats deep in tournaments and I realize now there will always be another tournament to win so why waste my time and energy over something I can't fix.

Life wise, I brought my little dog and me back to the South for a few months over the holidays. I'm really not interested in playing live until WSOP time so coming back here didn't conflict with anything. Gam has been extremely spoilt in meeting my family and loves it here.

Here he is checking out some Christmas decorations. This was the first year that I put up a Christmas tree in a really long time. My best friend's family has been selling Christmas trees and I couldn't resist buying one. I really love real Christmas trees.

I also made sure to take a couple of weekends off from playing mtts. The first weekend, my dad and I went to Clemson's last homegame against UVA and then the following weekend, my old roomie and sorority sister and I went to the Clemson/USC game which we unfortunately lost but still had an amazing time.

Finally, my best friends and I took a trip up to Lake Lure/Chimney Rock, NC. Lake Lure is where they filmed Dirty Dancing and we rented a mountain cabin near the lake. We had a blast even though it was literally Ghost Town, NC. One night we drove four different places looking for dinner. I later scared my best friend half to death by telling her ghost stories and looking up scary videos on youtube. Poor thing didn't sleep very well. Hah, I'm such a great friend. The next morning, the place was covered in a fog which was incredibly beautiful but spooky as well.

Ok, that's it for now. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and an amazing 2010!

Thanks! Well the answer is yes and no. I was happier day to day playing cash. Variance is much less. But. Love the adrenaline of mtts but along with that comes some sick emotional swings. Time is also a huge factor if I grinded cash like mtts I'd be the next nanoko!

I do still play cash once in a blue moon usually higher like 5/10 and 10/20 when games are good almost exclusively on ub. I don't like mixing cash and mtts sosince may I only have put in 19k hands.

Hope things are better with you I still read ur blog. :)

Hey. How did you go about moving up to the levels you play at now, how long did it take? Do you find that the MTT's are easier on certain sites? Sorry for the barrage of questions but im new on here and you seem worth asking.....

Congrats on the recent success!
